5 Minutes Freewriting - Commemorate

The prompt commemorate felt heavy, today I won't be writing in story format but more of a narration, when I see commemorate, the first thing that comes to my mind is that in life, we will have to commemorate various event or occasion to honor a person or a group of person

To commemorate is to remember, our forefathers who had laid down their lives for our country, or our loved ones who had departed.
The day can be lined up with events that requires huge spending or elaborated preparation or a simplified event to honor their memories.

Personally, I think the meaning behind the commemoration is way larger, it represents that we did not forget, and by not forgetting, the lesson that were taught to us were in memory, the person we love still lives on - in our heart that is.

Thus every commemoration has a special meaning behind for an individual or a group of people. It is unique in it's own way.
