The Ahmedabad Flower Show - Part 2
Continuing with Part 2 today. Let me first share some more information about this show. Through this event not only the city but India's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty is showcased. The show is held at the Sabarmati River front which is one of the most prominent public places in the city. It takes place in the month of January every year. It's winter time then so the flowers stay fresh for a longer time.
A decade back, this place was in a mess and then the beautification project took place to beautify the place and make it as a public place for leisure and entertainment activities. There were a lot of illegal settlements here, all of that were cleared, relocated and now this place looks absolutely gorgeous. It is on the river front; there are boat rides that happen and one can get a beautiful view of the city. With the lights it looks pretty at night.
This show has still not become a famous tourist attraction globally but it has earned some global recognition. In 2024, it was in Guinness world record for the longest flower structure and in 2025 for largest flower bouquet. It's upscaling year on year and creating new records every year. It takes place for a duration of 3 weeks and there is a Theme every year which promotes India's cultural heritage. It's a beautiful visual treat.
In this part I will display the festivals of India, mythological heritage and arts and dance forms of India.
That's a famous scene from Mahabharata where Lord Krishna is giving wisdom to Arjuna.

Lord Shiva in Meditation and the holy river Ganga flowing from his head.

A squirrel sitting in devotion in front of Lord Rama.

That looks like a fantastic show!! Would LOVE to see it with my own eyes one day!
Indeed, it is a visual feast
Oh wow, the artistry is amazing. These are really incredible design pieces, I like the different color combinations and hosting it at night does give the colors are more subtle otherworldly feel. The first one with Arjuna is my favourite :)
It's so vibrant and cheerful, trust me the fragrance and the whole environment is very uplifting, minus the crowd....haha. To think of it, even I am a part of that crowd :-)
What a beautiful way to bring history to life! The floral depiction of Lord Krishna and Arjuna, it’s amazing how they can capture such a profound moment of wisdom using only nature’s colors.
This year the theme had mythological depiction which is super idea and all Indians can relate so well to it.
