Estate [Extra Judicial] Settlements & Such

Magandang buhay!

We are having one hell of a busy, crazy week. Estate settlements and related processes can be time-consuming and exhausting. Thankfully, our nephew volunteered to handle most of the to-dos, even seeking legal aid to fast-track the proceedings. The sooner we sort things out, the better.

It turned out that Mom left us a valuable estate, but it was still under the name of her deceased sibling. Whilst the brother's heirs are aware and willing to approve the transfer (my parents had been paying for the taxes since the 1970s, mom's brother died in the late 80s), the processing is a pain in the arse, not to mention the hefty fees and all.

It's funny that we were conversing about Last Will and Testaments not long ago, and here we are without one. It's okay, though; no other people are claiming or contesting the properties, so at least there are no complications, just that there are plenty of requirements which makes the processing a bit lengthy.

I got a nasty headache just trying to deduce how it ended that way, lol! But thank you, Mom! We believe you had your reasons and hadn't had the chance to tell us about it while you were around. Well, at least our old man was aware.

Anyhow, it's a beautiful Wednesday here. The rain's gone, but the breeze and gray skies stuck around, making the day colder than usual. So guess what the Lil Guy and I are doing most of today?

Oh well, it can't be helped, lol! It's just one of our favorite things to do when we are under the weather. Cold days usually make us lazy to the bones, and even eating or hydrating ourselves feels like a chore.

Meanwhile, the hubby is on the screen, binge-watching. we might join him soon, although I know I'd be dozing off in no time😊

If other people were contesting about the property, I think that is where there will have been more issues pending to be resolved, it's good that things are going smoothly, and it will just be in less time, the procedures will finish. Regard.

Thankfully, there are no issues, so we just have to deal with the lengthy procedures and the fees, hehe

Thank you :)

I bloody hate that paper stuff, it's a waste of time and money for stupid things... Gladly everyone agrees on what's to be done without pretending something, but still annoying to do all the process

I hear you. I don't like doing them too. It would be nice if the system were upgraded to spare people from going to and from offices for certain paperworks.

Your nephew must be a good person because to some people that is an avenue to start dragging the property but since is just to get things done properly you have to endure the delay and get your thing back nothing good come so easy you will succeed

Wow, estate stuff is such a headache. Good thing your nephew stepped up to help. Those transfer processes are brutal even when everyone's cooperating. Hope it all gets sorted soon

So far, things are okay for the initial proceedings, so we hope the further processes will be smooth.

Parents should resolve such property issues themselves, otherwise siblings will fight among themselves. This seems to happen a lot in our country.

Thankfully, we are not fighting amongst ourselves :) But you are right, things like these should be sorted by parents early on.

Such kind of procedure are quite troublesome as the system is complex. Whatever It's the end and that's relief. I hope your mother are in peace in paradise.
