The Rivers of Belief

I stop and look up at the building across the street. What an eye-catching mural.

I remember that religion is an overt fact of life here. Back home, attitudes towards religious matters have changed over the years and are now kept apart between social spheres (for the most part). It is a good way to avoid quarrels between the many religious factions if we all just agree to keep such matters private. Even witches are tolerated as long as they don't mess around with cats or chickens. This is not the case in other places where civic life and religious duties are closely intertwined. I am reminded of this whenever I come across buildings with salient religious symbolism, remnants of another time and place.

Respect and tolerance are values that are increasingly present in our societies, thank God. Freedom of worship, without harming anyone, is a sign of civility. Greetings, my friend. Nice pictures

I have a lot to say about religion, but I won't:)
I just see the painting and it's good and colorful!

😄 I enjoy and admire the craftmanship that went into making these works.

It looks very old, with a particular style, and if there are many societies where the religious aspect is deeply rooted...

Some elements could be centuries old. This is one of the first cities founded in the Americas.
