Temporary repairs. + Reparaciones temporales. [Eng+Spa]
It's almost Friday, and the day has passed calmly. I'm grateful for that, because yesterday we were doing repairs, and it was a little more hectic than usual around here.
I had mentioned yesterday about a failure in the water pipes on the street. It was a water leak that weakened the soil along the side of the road and almost brought down an electric pole.
The factory neighbors took it upon themselves to shut off the water and prevent the situation from getting worse. And my brother and I spent yesterday making repairs so that (when the water service returns) we wouldn't have an exposed pipe and the water wouldn't wash away the soil again. If that happened, the electric pole wouldn't hold up any longer and would end up on the ground with the wires sparking.
Today, my brother suggested taking some photos of the temporary repair work. In the photos, you can see how the base of the electric pole looked, almost in the air and quite tilted.
At this point, I decided to put all the photos together into a collage, and that's how we came up with the photo I'm sharing in today's short post.

Está terminando el viernes, y el día ha transcurrido de manera calmada. Agradezco eso, porque ayer estuvimos en reparaciones, y fue un poco más agitado de lo que suelen ser los días por estos lados.
Yo había comentado ayer sobre una falla en las tuberías de agua en la calle, se trató de una fuga de agua que debilitó la tierra del borde de la carretera y casi hace caer un poste eléctrico.
Los vecinos de la fábrica se encargaron de cerrar el paso de agua y evitar que la situación fuera peor. Y mi hermano y yo nos dedicamos ayer a hacer las reparaciones para que (cuando regrese el servicio de agua) no tengamos una tubería al aire y el agua vuelva a lavar la tierra. Si eso ocurriera de seguro que el poste eléctrico no aguantaría más y terminaría en el suelo con los cables soltando chispas.
Hoy, mi hermano sugirió tomar algunas fotos del trabajo temporal de reparación. En las fotos se puede ver como quedó la base del poste eléctrico, casi en el aire y bastante inclinado.
Ya a estas horas me decidí por unir todas las fotos en una imagen de collage, y es así como llegamos a la foto que yo comparto en este breve post de hoy.
En fin, deseo que mi fin de semana sea realmente tranquilo y que permita recuperar energías. Te deseo que tú estés bien, que tengas un gran fin de semana, y que nos volvamos leer en un futuro.
