A Wee Drive for Foodstuffs and Such
Uwan is coming, a super typhoon category, stronger than Tino, the weather forecasts say. We pray it isn't so, and it will just bring a bit of rain and nothing else. There had been so many disasters this year, and some haven't even recovered yet.
But we do need to prepare, so we drove to the other town mid-afternoon for groceries and stuff. Yongi, as always, is eager to watch things and be by the window while we traverse the road to the border.

But yes, some people find it odd that we do our shopping in the other town, even when we have been here in DD for over a year now. Well, we do so because it has our favorite grocers, and we haven't found any substitutes here. Maybe someday :)
Until then, we will be crossing the border every week for foodstuffs and other necessities.
Anyway, we were almost to our first stop (gas shop) when the rain started pouring. And as expected, there was traffic too. We even saw my niece's car ahead of us.

From the gas shop, we drove further to the water refilling station for our drinking water. "Why do you buy refills here? Are there no suppliers in MK?" my sister asked last time. Well, we tried them, but for some reason, we didn't like the bland taste of the filtered water. It might be the source, or their filtration system is not comprehensive enough. So yes, we still buy gallons of water in the other town.
And our next stop was the supermarket. But because of the heavy rain, the hubby took care of the rest while Yongi and I stayed in the car, keeping ourselves warm and dry.
The LilGuy got bored at some point and became too sleepy to continue watching the comings and goings outside. Here, he seems to be saying, "Don't bother me, mom!"😅

It took a while for the Farmboy to purchase our pantry supplies, so my boy enjoyed her snooze time. We left the other town around 5 pm, and thankfully, the rain eased off, making it safer for us to drive the streets leading home.

Why people could find it odd is because of the time and energy used in going to the other town when you could have gotten what you want near
That's true. I think we like the aura of the markets in the other town😊

Have a good day 😊
Sana nga Hindi na matuloy ang bagyo sis. Katakot. 😑
Sana nga sis. Parang every November, may malakas na typhoon.
Hmm don't you have plastic bottles with water sold in supermarkets? I don't know I would trust random filters around
So many typhoons, you should at this point build a subterranean bunker, no joke
Oh, it's common. We used to buy them but we have collected many plastics so when we found a trusted filtering station, we stopped buying bottled water.
The subterranean bunker is a good idea, and it should also be earthquake proof
For the plastics and other litter we have the home recycling, so you just put all plastics in bags and truck will pick them up in front of your home

Thank you lots❤️
It’s never easy preparing for a typhoon, but it’s good that you managed to get the supplies you needed. Your little one’s antics must have added some light moments to the stressful trip.
That's right. We had to refill our supplies. And yes, the LilGuy always adds fun and humor to our everyday :)
Sounds like typhoon is a regular guest in your region. I think Maximum time I heard about typhoon from you or your country's people. I think you guys are already used to with it. Right?

Yes, typhoons are a common occurrence here, year in, year out, but we can never get used to them. Strong ones scare us, to be honest.

The weather in your city is looking much nicer and it looks like it's going to rain, and it's true that in winter, it's more like sitting indoors.
Yes, it was nice then. Today is rainy and gusty, so we are staying indoors and keeping safe as the typhoon approaches.
We stay safe from disasters at home.
Good to have nice drinking water to avoid sickness, I now see LilGuy eyes very well the hair has not cover the eye
again
Yes. We can't be without clean drinking water.
His hair needs a little trimming again :)
