A new revolution around the sun has begun
Everything seems new yet the same
Tick, tick, the sound of the clock remains.
Soon days will turn to weeks and weeks to months.
Six months down, hope your throat won't be filled with grunts?
Jubilation hangs in the air
Shouts of wishes from friends so dear
And foes so near
Happy new year! Happy new year! They scream
Fireworks in the air, Lots of hopes and dreams.
The resolutions has begun
New year, new me
An anthem we've heard a time too many.
Never lasting beyond the first few weeks of the year.
If it must be a new you
Then it must be words more than actions
A willingness to make a difference
Right the wrongs
Work harder and smarter
Set targets and achieve them
Now it is a new year
Soon it will be just a year
With a desire for a quick wrap for some
And for others, a slow crawl
No matter what be the case, one fact remains
We are getting closer to our final destination.
The new year comes with lots of expectations and goal setting. Sometimes people are too hard on themselves. However as you said it will soon be just another year. The most important thing is to live an enjoyable and meaningful life. The interpretation of this will be decided by each individual.
The one thing that is for sure is that time passes and does not wait for anyone.
