From Ecstasy to Agony at Molineux,Arsenal’s 2-0 Lead Vanishes in a Title Chasing Heartbreaker!!!

It took me a lot of courage to put this out, but here we are.You were leading 2-0 out of nowhere against rock-bottom Wolves, cruising like the champions we all dream you’ll become. Then, in the blink of an eye, they equalised to make it 2-2 at full time. What on earth happened, Arsenal?

Arsenal

Let us rewind this brutal night in the West Midlands. On a freezing, sleety evening at Molineux, the Gunners started like a team ready to put the title race to bed. Just four minutes in, Bukayo Saka ,fresh off signing his new five-year deal, rose to nod home Declan Rice’s pinpoint cross after Gabriel Martinelli’s clever lay-off.His first goal in 16 games and suddenly the league leaders were flying. Arsenal looked sharp, dominant, in control.Fast-forward to the 55th minute: Piero Hincapie, the Ecuadorian defender who is been solid all season, latched onto a gorgeous through-ball from Gabriel, held off his man and rifled one past Jose Sa for his first Arsenal goal. 2-0. Game over, right?

The travelling Gunners were bouncing, the title gap to Manchester City looked like it was stretching to seven points and for 55 glorious minutes, we were the team everyone feared. But this is Arsenal in 2026, and nothing is ever that simple.
Hugo Bueno pulled one back on 60 minutes with a stunning left-footed strike from the edge of the box that whistled into the top corner,a goal worthy of any team, let alone the Premier League’s basement side. Suddenly the atmosphere changed.Wolves, with just 10 points all season and fighting for survival, smelled blood.Arsenal’s rhythm vanished.Passes went astray, the midfield dropped deep and the second half became a scrappy battle against the elements and a team with nothing to lose.

Then came the dagger. 90+3 minutes. A Wolves cross causes chaos in the box, David Raya punches it out,Tom Edozie (on his Premier League debut!) lashes one that clips the post and deflects off Riccardo Calafiori straight into the net. Own goal. 2-2. Molineux erupts. Arsenal players on their knees. Two points thrown away in the most painful fashion possible.Does Arsenal want to bottle the league? That’s the question every fan is screaming right now. What a poor, poor performance after the break. We dominated early, created chances, looked like the best team and then switched off.
No killer instinct to see the game out.No composure when the pressure came. The fans have waited 22 long years to see our beloved team lift the Premier League trophy 🏆, and nights like this feel like salt in the wound. We keep promising, keep teasing, keep coming so close, only to disappoint at the final hurdle.

But wait,it is still too early to fully complain.
We are top of the table with 58 points from 27 games.Five points clear of City (with a game in hand for them). The North London derby at Tottenham is next, then Chelsea at home. The squad is packed with quality,Saka, Rice, Saliba, Odegaard, new signings stepping up.Mikel Arteta has built something special here. This isn’t the Arsenal of old that crumbled under pressure; this is a team that’s been battle-hardened. One bad night at Molineux doesn’t erase the 17 wins and the football we’ve played this season. So here is the sound ending,Gunners: we hurt tonight. We are allowed to be angry, frustrated and heartbroken. But we don’t give up.Not now.Not when the trophy is finally within touching distance.Dust yourselves off, learn from this gut-punch, and come back firing on Sunday. The fans will be there every step of the way, because after 22 years, we still believe.
COYG!!!The race isn’t over,it’s only just getting spicy. ❤️.

Thank so much for stopping by and reading my post.@zusi78, signing off.Bye for now.
