ECENCY LEADERBOARD!!!
Good morning ecencials,I welcome you to my blog @zusi78, I want to share an opinion on ecency leaderboard.
This is just my observation after doing some research about Ecency leaderboard, and I stand to be corrected—because we learn everyday and this community is so special to me.
From observation,Ecency leaderboard activities count the total number of distinct actions performed on the platform within a selected period, such as daily, weekly, or monthly.
These include posting content, commenting on posts, upvoting, reblogging, responding to ecency waves and other interactions. Each qualifying action increments the activity tally by one, regardless of point value, prioritizing volume of engagement over quality for ranking "most active" users.
This design encourages broad platform use, letting high-volume users top activity charts even if their points lag behind strategic players.
For me I would balance both by mixing volume with Point-efficient actions.

QUALIFYING ACTIONS
Common activities tallied are posts (1 count), comments (1 per comment), votes/upvotes (1 each), and reblogs (1 each).Ecency Waves responses also register as activity, alongside daily logins or check-ins if they trigger platform interactions.Repeated low-effort actions like multiple upvotes stack up counts, explaining why someone with 100 activities might outpace others despite fewer rewards.
In Ecency's leaderboard, rewards reflect Ecency Points earned from various platform activities, not just the raw count of posts or comments. That is why at times someone with 100 activities but only 68 rewards likely focused on lower-point actions like quick upvotes (0.3 points each) or short online sessions (0.25 points per 15 minutes), while spreading efforts thinly without high-impact engagement.
Unlike the person with 77 activities but 90 rewards probably prioritized higher-value actions such as posting (15 points), commenting (5 points), daily logins (10 points), or check-ins/bonuses that multiply efficiency.
KEY REWARDS FACTORS
Ecency Points reward quality and specific interactions over volume. High-reward users maximize bonuses like daily online streaks (+10 points) or delegations (100 points per 1000 HP), turning fewer activities into bigger gains.Low-reward cases often stem from repetitive low-point tasks without strategic variety.
ACTIVITIES VS REWARDS GAP
The inverse ranking occurs because points aren't linear—100 low-value activities (e.g many upvotes) yield less than 77 optimized ones (e.g posts plus curation).Leaderboards rank by total points claimed from the wallet, emphasizing curation skill and consistency over quantity.
The the beauty of it all is,leaderboard position relies solely on action volume to encourage consistent platform use.High-activity users often claim weekly prizes like HIVE or extra points from these tallies.
Aslo, there is the weekly random selection of numbers as far as you are always on top 50 on the LEADERBOARD CHART by ecency, hosted by @melinda010100
Like I said earlier I stand to be corrected. What are your leaderboard strategies? Please share!
