Viral Hit: From Zero to Viral - Review
VIRAL HIT
Hello anime lovers, today I'll be reviewing an old anime, and I feel it's underrated. The name of the anime is Viral Hit; it is also a popular webtoon (Manhwa). I have not read it yet, but I've heard that the Manhwa is really good. However, I don't have enough time to read, so I prefer to watch, and for that reason, today I have decided to review it. It was released in 2024, and I didn't know it; I don't know why it popped up in my YouTube feed, so I felt like giving it a try.
At first, when I saw the trailer, I thought it was about boxing or something related to sports anime, but I was wrong. I watched the trailer over and over again, and I understood the concept; I found it pretty unique. I could not resist watching the anime. I feel it would be a waste if I didn't watch this anime because I cannot miss masterpieces like this one. No wonder my friends never talked about it; maybe the anime adaptation is not as famous as the manhwa. But I felt guilty about how I could have missed this anime for a year. Seriously, I should have watched it long ago.
The show concept is really unique because it's bold and a good adaptation of the Manhwa. Viral Hit is truly an amazing anime. Coming from an unique anime theme lover's perspective, it is a true example of a Korean oversight story. The story is about a poor high schooler who's name is Hobin and he is badly bullied by his classmates. His classmates are NewTubers, and they earn a lot from it. Hobin is also in need of money; eventually, he ends up running a NewTube channel, which he named Viral Hit. This channel is created to call out the bullies and to unmask them. This concept is very interesting; Hobin does not pretend about it; he really needs money, and he's a little grungy trying to get it.
Well, I won't say the ideas about this concept are flawless; however, every audience would want to see Hobin's character development. It is an unique scenario of a YouTube channel, which is known as NewTube in the anime. Viral Hit also gives in the context about martial arts; we get to see moves in different fighting styles, along with a strong explanation of the reason why Hobin is able to fight off his stronger opponents. There are also some scenes where the protagonist is lucky in certain situations in the show. The story makes the fights more realistic; we don't see Hobin directly gaining his strength, but rather he is slowly learning. That's one thing that you don't often see in anime nowadays. The anime didn't depict Hobin as ridiculously strong; it is shown that he just used strategies. For that reason, the show is interesting.
I feel everyone should give this anime a chance; you will experience today's reality through it. It's overwhelming, and I have liked it very much. I think it's one of the best in 2024 after Solo Leveling.

Looks interesting! Thanks for sharing girl 🧁🌸
You should try reading the Manhwa itself because the animation in this looks low budget. Also try reading lookism too. I think both are from the same author.
I've watched lookism too, I will try to read the manhwa too thanks.
I did this the opposite way so the reduction in character quality was quite noticeable in anime.
Anyway, enjoy :)
Ah well, I have read some manga and when they are animated it's different, this makes the reader feel uneasy, totally understandable.
I think Manhwa is more brutal when it comes to violence and humiliation but it's diluted in the anime version plus some scenes are omitted for some reason.
I also felt the animation is kinda off, like it's not that good but watchable. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion I will look through the Manhwa 🌷

I liked this anime more than I expected. I'm not a big fan of manga adaptations, but I really enjoyed this one, both for its story and the way its characters are developed. The mix of action and comedy is excellent, very entertaining and with very good battles and quite detailed visual effects. I'm really looking forward to a second season of this anime, to be honest.
Good review.
I thought people didn't like the quality of the animation so not sure if there will be another season or not.
I really hope so, because these are the kinds of stories that are worth cheering for. Unfortunately, it came out in a season with too much competition, and it didn't really stand out. But hey, as long as they have achieved the success they hoped for, I hope it will be enough to continue.
