Tulips drawing & Process

Hello everyone, this is my first post about my drawing. I hope you will like it!

Tulips have always held a special place in my heart; their unique beauty captivates me like no other flower. I have always admired the vibrant color and beautiful shape. Yet I have never gotten the chance to express my appreciation through art. Instead, I often prioritize others’ preferences and neglect my passions. However, I’ve realized that drawing is more than just a hobby because it is a form of self-expression for me. Drawing gave me the freedom to explore my creativity. Today, I’ve finally decided to draw a tulip, a flower that is deeply connected with my feelings. I did feel a little bit overwhelmed and unsure of where to begin, but I still tried to overcome it. I have never tried to draw something that I like. I’ve only drawn what others wanted. Now I realize that real joy comes from pursuing what I love. Drawing has changed my life, igniting a sense of motivation and purpose within me. I look forward to exploring more of my artistic interests in the future. For now, I have followed some instructions to draw tulips because I was out of my imagination.

Here is the process step by step:

At first, I wanted to draw the petals because I found it hard to draw. If the petals don’t look right what’s the point of drawing if no one recognizes that it’s a tulip? I hope it turns out right.

Then I began to draw the leaves it’s not quite the same as I expected it to be. It’s gotten quite thinner than I wanted it to be.

Adding shades is very important because it will make a huge difference in the drawing. If I don’t add shades it’s going to look pale.

Now it's time to draw the 2nd tulip this time I have made the stem before the petals.

I made a mistake with the 2nd tulip so I decided to erase that part and draw it again.

It’s not that hard to draw again because it’s my first mistake. If I had done it a few times then it would be tiring to do so.

I have fixed the petals of 2nd tulip and it looks much better than before, I don’t know if you have noticed the previous one didn’t look as good as it looks now.

This is the final look without colors yet I'm planning to color it I don’t know how it will turn out but still I’m curious to check.

I have again started with the petals to color, and I’m using watercolor currently. Dark pink and baby pink colors are mixed together.

Then I started to color the other parts which is the color green.

Finally, I'm done with coloring and this is the final look. I think it looked better without colors but never mind I think it looks good too with colors.

Let me know in the comment section which one you like the most. With colors or without the colors?

That’s the end for today thanks for reading! Your support will mean a lot to me.

@zoe01...

You did a great job with this drawing! As we discussed in The Terminal, you did more than just slap a few images up without any kind of content. You actually shared with your readers just what inspired you to draw these tulips! I will be quite honest... this statement really spoke to my heart...

It is very refreshing to see someone who really shares what makes their heart smile... Thank you for sharing this with us; I look forward to seeing what you might create next!!
