My Personal Experience Learning a New Language - LOH #240
Since 2012, I have been watching anime and have become a big fan of it. I could not understand Japanese, so I always read the English subtitles. In the beginning, it was really hard, as English is also not my first language, but as time passed, I learned English very quickly since it was a subject at my school. We are taught our mother tongue, Bengali, and English as a second language. It was never hard to learn English, as I had online friends from different countries, and I learned many English words from them. I used to communicate with them using Skype at that time, and they would help me out whenever I made mistakes in my English. When I was in 8th grade, I started to join classes in English, which is called English medium. It was really easy for me at that time because English was my favorite language.
My classmates were very supportive towards me. During exams, I used to help my friends, as they looked up to me since I was the topper of the class. Recently, I have developed a desire to learn Japanese because whenever I watch Japanese anime, I have to keep my eyes on the subtitles, and if I look away while eating, I might miss some parts and have to replay that scene again and again. This happens often, so for this reason, I want to learn Japanese so that I won't need any subtitles and can understand by hearing. I am very excited to learn Japanese, as it's not common in our country to learn anything other than the English language. So, I felt something special about learning it.
Recently, I have been using Duolingo to learn Japanese. To be honest, it feels easier to learn with this app. It has some great features, and it's repetitive, so I can practice some chapters and not forget what I have learned. I think many will find it annoying to repeat the same words, but I feel it's the only way to remember the words easily
I am also trying to recognize the letters, which are called Hiragana. There are three different ways to learn Japanese writing; it's divided into three sections: the first is Hiragana, the second is Katakana, and the third is Kanji. I am learning Hiragana because it is said to be easier to start with, and later on, I will learn the others too. I have learned a few letters, and the pronunciation is really hard. It's easy to remember the letters because of the repetitive chapters. I also practice it in real life on paper; I write the letters to see which ones I remember.
Hopefully, in a few months, I will learn how to speak Japanese. Currently, I am trying to learn basic things, such as greetings, by watching videos on YouTube. I don't have a fixed plan; I watch randomly whichever video comes in front of me. My aim is to speak fluently in Japanese. I wish this dream of mine comes true so that I can watch anime without any hassle. Later on, I will try to learn the Korean language, as I have made a list of languages to learn.

Thanks for reading 🌷

I should try out this Duolingo app. I'd like to speed up my understanding of the languages I am interested in learning.
Thanks @zoe01 ❤️
I'm facing some problems with Duolingo you can also use "Busuu" it's another great app for learning languages.
Yes, not all language apps are perfect. At least most people appreciate my effort in trying to speak their language.
Impressive learning another language
Thank you so much, I hope to be fluent soon.
