Time again to look back through my pictures and see if there is enough adventure to appease the masses.

In this edition, I am watching the battle of the seasons, enjoying sport and music, and maybe indulging in a beer. Pure Canadiana.

Where we left off...

There were signs of spring everywhere after a couple days above 15 Celsius. Some people were swapping their winter tires and prancing in the magic of sunlight after 5:00 PM.



Wise ol' Zeke wasn't fooled when there was another drop in temperatures and dusting of snow. Those short of memory forget previous years which, in these parts, always have a deceiving warm snaps that make you think winter is done. My little guy loves the snow as much as otherwise so we headed to the park to enjoy the last of the snow.

As Canadian as that sounded, how about I raise you some winter BBQing? I have a shovel next to mine and I am apt to throw a bunch of burgs on in the worst blizzards because that's how I roll eh? Poor old soul needs a cover but has stood tall for well over a decade.



Downtown it is feeling wintery too by the court house, nestled in an early spring blanket of snow. Neat old building built in 1887 with its creaky floors and polished wood everywhere. Not that I spend much time in the courthouse! The flags are at half because of the passing of our 18th prime minister Brian Mulrooney who ruled for almost a decade in the 80s.

Playoff hockey!

This may contend for the most Canadian Zekely ever as I have to share a little playoff hockey! It is a special time of year where the prospects of elimination or advancing toward the title are on the line. Here, the Fighting Irish are in the middle of a time-out planning their attack at the end of a game they are trailing by 1. They managed to score to force overtime in the last minute but dropped a heart-breaker in sudden death over time. So much fun and the beers are only $3!



Another thing I love about this game is there is fighting. Seems crazy to fans of most sports but it has its place. When you are flying around at that speed, where hitting is legal, and you have weapons in your hands and on your feet, injuries can happen when someone gets a little too aggressive. Sometimes, you have to have the threat of a punch in the face if you take things a little too far. Adds another level of excitement to the games too. When $Hive reaches $10, power down and cash out a small stack to visit me here in the winter for a brewery tour, bed&breakfast stay and maybe a little playoff hockey!

Music!

There certainly has been a bounty of music lately. From promoting shows, working with local festivals and music venues, and even rehearsing for a show me an the boys are putting on this weekend, it shows no signs of slowing down. It takes a thoughtful pause for the Zekely to help me realize this victory as I battle for financial gain in a crucial year. The success will arrive in small steps but they are made that much more enjoyable when you are not only enjoying music, but helping it develop at least indirectly.

Here, we are at a silent disco with local DJs at a family friendly party at the museum. Such a cool and easy outing with plenty of groove.

Spring is Coming

With all this winter and snow talk, it really last long. A week of pretty damn cold rolled right back up above freezing and melted everything so that the dog park is a bog. Not that this guy prefers one less than the other. Mud or no, he gets up to full flight in the trails and seems to have the time of his life every visit. Before too long, we will be back to 9:00 sunsets and probably mosquitos that will carry you away. Looking forward to that.

BEER!

A trip down the familiar craft beer aisle was in order of course. Quite possible I have reviewed most of these beers for #beersaturday over the 351 weeks I have played along. So many old favourites, a few new ones, and a bunch I have classified as "I will buy this again" that I has yet to. Even a couple in my coveted top-10 which happen to be IPAs that are core offerings from some of the best breweries in the region.

Here is one I have in the chamber for one of the next few #beersaturday posts. Maybe a spoiler but think a while about a coconut, Lemon, Chiffon Double IPA. Definitely a new beer and one by one of the OG craft breweries in the region but this must be over the top right? Crazy Canadians. What the hell has chiffon got to do with beer? You may have to give me a follow so you don't miss that one.

I am no @daveks when it comes to sunset shots but I do enjoy them. The sun has gone down on another Weekly Zekely and this is what it looks like on the side of the road through an iPhone where I am. The sun is starting to hold warmth and a fantastic spring is on the horizon.
