Weekend Experiences - Watching Winter Battle Spring

This post is for #SublimeSunday (inspired by @c0ff33a) and #BeautifulSunday (initiated by @ace108) because I always post too late for #weekendexperiences!
This week, all we have is a weekend that promises plenty of pre-spring outdoors after a long week.

Spring and Winter Battle
Do you ever get to the point where you realize you have almost zero plans on the weekend, and absolutely love that? While it can suck to work all week and not have something fun to do on the weekend, I do enough work and fun stuff during the week. So, a weekend of almost no responsibilities gets me outside when I am not napping.

If you are not into dogs or hiking in the outdoors, best drop a huge upvote and continue on to the next post on your feed. If you are new here, this little dood has the time of his life at the dog park for an hour a day if I can swing it. When I am not swamped by a honey-do list or events I have to attend to support friends, promote business or be a part of the community, I catch up on Dogwars time for this guy.

Every time I visit the dog park, I like to take a picture from a couple of places on each end of a trail. This is the south end looking north on Friday. Light blue in the evening sky and a little soggy on the path.
Here it is again on Saturday. the path has dried a little and the sky is a little darker with clouds.
And again on Sunday. Right when it looked like we were headed into spring, winter suggests it is not quite done yet.
For the record, this is what it looks like in the dead of summer which I am genuinely looking forward to right about now.

The North Side
Here we are on the north side of that trail looking south late Friday afternoon. A little water to the right but pretty smooth sailing along the dry path.
The next day a little more overcast but the water is drying up. Perhaps spring is finally here.
Nope. Snow the next day and a couple more after this one.
Here is the money shot with a view you can expect in the middle of summer. Seems a long way off but perhaps it is the anticipation that makes it even greater.

The sun has gone down on a sublime weekend where we are best to appreciate how gradually spring comes on in waves. I am encouraged by the warmth the sun has regained, the forecast which promises more moderate temperatures, and a slow weekend that provided almost too much rest and recharge out doors.
Northern Weekend Warriors will soon have SPRING!!

We appreciate your work and your publication has been hand selected by the geography curation team on behalf of the Amazing Nature AN Community. Keep up the good work!
AN huh? I am a lover of amazing nature so I should check that group out. Thanks!
Good morning, dear friend @zekepickleman, how are you?
It's so good to have the weekend, no obligations to fulfill, and to be able to do everything we love, like going for a walk with our pet.
The weather is terribly crazy. In Argentina, we're starting fall, but the hot days just won't go away. I think this is happening in much of the world.
You have beautiful places to walk, surrounded by abundant vegetation.
Have a great day.
Wow. Hot days sound great about now. You won’t catch me complaining about the weather except perhaps a small point at the end of the winter while it battles spring that last bit. Here’s so spring here soon and moderate days in Argentina.
The back and forth between winter and spring. One day it’s all blue skies, the next instant snow. Mother Nature really can’t make up her mind. The summer shot looks like paradise
I just love the people up here who need spring and warm days so bad they get surprised by the last snow…every year. We are warming up nicely but those people who get their snow tires off are in for another rude surprise again this year!
hahaha a rude surprise indeed man
Greetings @zekepickleman ,
Lovely post and photographs!
What can we say....Winter's last gasp!
Yes...I have always seen it the change from Winter to Spring as a Struggle/Battle...yet no matter how fierce...we know who wins! hehe
Enjoying your post along with a cuppa!
Bleujay
Haha! I love to sit in my curation chair by the front window with my first cup of the day. Luckily, the view isn't like this anymore and hopefully I will soon be looking out over green, leaves and flowers.
