Weekend Experiences - Sublime, Beautiful Winter Weekend!

This week's post can be found at https://hive.blog/hive-168869/@galenkp/weekend-engagement-topics-week-246, though we have missed the contest deadline for this week but that never stops me from posting. #SublimeSunday (inspired by @c0ff33a) and #BeautifulSunday (initiated by @ace108) are also great weekend-loving communities where we get to celebrate a couple days off.
Here we have a few pics and stories in a whirlwind of a weekend.
First things first! The Prompt!
What's in your refrigerator? Surely this was another one written for me! It is almost like I haven't just been blessed with a trending #beersaturday blog that didn't cover this very thing. This short answer is IPA. The long answer can be found at https://hive.blog/beersaturday/@zekepickleman/beersaturday-swimming-in-ipa and it includes equal parts craft beer, home brewing and beers on the town.
Back to the Winter Weekend!
I will start with Dog Wars as a good frame for a Canadian weekend. The snow is packed probably a foot and a half from the actual ground and I love weekends when I can get the dog out in the daylight. More dogs for him to play with and I can snap this picture like I have hundreds of times in different seasons. Someday, I will collect them all and assemble them into an animated gif.
Fighting!
The best start to the weekend, discounting a Friday night of beers and games with the guys, is to get your ass up and fight with martial artists. I have trained brazilian jiu jitsu on and off for over a decade. Finance and schedule interefered with my training a bit the last year but I returned to the mats this weekend. Amazing how much you forget when not training, how your breathing and basic stuff has to be rebuilt and the skin on your toes gets torn off like you were a white belt again.
Live Music
I might actually have to craft a whole post on this fantastic live music experience. For the newer followers, I run a marketing company and one of our clients is a live music venue who use us for event promotion. One of the benefits is I get to attend some of the concerts and was invited to see a fantastic Janis Joplin tribute. This chick could sing! I am talking about Janis herself and the female vocalist who somehow managed to capture the range and energy of one of music's royalty. People who lived through the 60s united with teenagers at this event and the cross generational connection through music cannot be denied.
Food
Hive has made me one of those silly people who take pictures of the good food at restaurants. When I enjoy a good meal, like this Royale with Cheese at Revival House, through the power of Hive, I instantly become a professional food reviewer and social media influencer who gets paid for the attention! Not only that but the backlink, from this blog that appears on many websites, really helps on the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for small businesses. Win/win/win.
Golf!
Golf is such a perfect cross section of sport, discipline and white privilege. Up in the great white north, it can also be something you don't get to enjoy during the long winter months. We have managed to snag an indoor golf client Fore Everyone Golf where we do some online promotion, and they let us enjoy weekly indoor golf! Such a great weekend activity!
The deep freeze and snowmageddon seem to have finally broken and the sun has set on another unintentionally busy and fun weekend. I hope your weekend was as fun as mine.
All Hail the Weekend Warriors!
You all get real snow up there. Not this off and on couple inches here, a little rain there, a few more inches of snow there, like we do down here. It is aggravating. Makes for a soggy and wet mess. The Royale and cheese looked great. Time for breakfast and I may make a burger after seeing that.
Last year was one of those snow melt rain ice snow melt years. This year, in jan/feb at least, it has been consistently well below zero and a couple blizzards flew by back to back. This is really winter for sure and many are about ready for a spring thaw now.

Since we are sharing it with each other and getting rewards for it, then we are professional foodies! Much better than those instagram influencer wannabees who do it their ego and meta profit.
