Weekend Experiences - Spring Fun

Again, the end of my weekend was nuts and I have missed the deadline for #WeekendExperiences. I may have to petition @galenkp to extend it a day so that time-zone and Sunday weekend warriors can be included. This week's post can be found at https://hive.blog/hive-168869/@galenkp/weekend-engagement-topics-week-256 All good for #SublimeSunday (inspired by @c0ff33a) and #BeautifulSunday (initiated by @ace108) as they have no time limits and are equally as fun to follow.
This weekend I am enjoying some goofy fun, the slow crawl of spring, playoff hockey and BEER!

First things first! The Prompt!
What financial plan (other than crypto currency) have you put in place to secure your future? Explain. I love the EXPLAIN command! Crypto is like a lottery ticket to me. My chance to spend a couple bucks for the impossible possibility of making millions. Lottery is a tax on the mathematically impaired and crypto, when you have as little disposable income as I do to spend, is only slightly better. My plan is to ride the value of my real early estate investment and years spent starting and growing my own business to modest financial freedom. A big part of that plan is to live life and have fun all along the way.

Spring is slowly sproinging
There are buds on the trees and temperatures occasionally reaching the 20s (starting at 68 Freedom Units) in this slow drag through spring. We still have threats of frost so I am only about to prepare the garden for planting and will procrastinate #gardenhive post a couple weeks. Maybe some soil prep and garden store visits in the meantime.

We started the weekend with a little birthday celebration for @evileddy featuring a little pizza from a local Papa Johns Pizza https://locations.papajohns.com/canada/on/n4z-1a5/stratford/1060-ontario-st They were nice enough to throw in some birthday dipping sauces and a nice big pizza cookie.

My little guy sure is enjoying the open back door and extra company at the dog park from the fair-weather dogs. Or at least their owners are more apt to plan a trip in the warmer weather.

The path in the back of the dog park is starting to show a little green on the edges. Soon, the northern jungle will grow and green will push in from every angle.

Even Birdhouse Tree is starting to show some buds. If only I had a picture to share to foreshadow its magnificent coif expected again this summer.
Ah there it is. Still probably 4 months til we are this full and the highest north-facing leaves start to turn yellow. Learning to appreciate the slow approach of summer that lasts longer.

Hockey
In case you didn't know, it is hockey playoffs season. Probably recognized and celebrated in few places as much as Canada but that is where we are. Here is a shot of us having fun at a local hockey game which saw the home team take home the championship in game 7. Shot by my buddy Fred on the bench.

Beer
You can read a little more about the weekend brewing activities in this week's #beersaturdaay post at https://hive.blog/beersaturday/@zekepickleman/beersaturday-big-city-beers-part-ii but it includes this shot of our fermenters. Top down view of 3 of our 60-litre (16 Freedom Units) fermentation units with a nice mix of Amber, Golden and India Pale ales. Right now, I am enjoying a stiff 7.75 ABV NEIPA we brewed and I might just have to include that in next week's post.
'Til then, here is a nice clean globally recognized pint fit for my wife.

'Til Next Time
I normally end with a nice sunset shot pretending I am @daveks. This time, I still have my eyes on the sky wondering what this winged creature is. Whenever I look upward and see a bird with a wingspan of 2+ meters (2 freedom yards,) I think of one of the many American eagles we have around here. Maybe a big hawk or even a turkey vulture? Who knows. So great to see the big birds in the sky as spring settles in and guides us to summer.

Nothing has yet put me in place to secure my future, however I have been trying my best in some different ways, stocks-cryptos and savings.
It is a good thing to learn about and be aware of. I wish I had more disposable income to invest back when I dove in but it has all gone into building a business and the lifestyle of our family.
Still, made some nice gains entering in late 2017 and learned a little about analytics which could help in the stock market at some point.
Lottery is an investment. It's just a very investment with very high risk of losing everything you invested and very low possibility of getting very high rewards. I need to go buy my Toto tickets now.
Haha fair enough. I still consider them a tax on the mathematically impaired! ;)
I have two colleagues who graduate with Statistics degree and they too "invest"
I don't know what species it is but it is definitely a bird XD
Your dog looks weird in that picture, man. It's a very close up photo, like a scary creature haha.
Ya he is a goofy little thing. Always wants to play or run in the park. So easy to borrow joy from his simple pleasures.
Might be a turkey vulture. We call them pterodactyls at my house. Reminds me I have to get off to the dog park right now!
You might be right. The iPhone doesn’t shoot far away things too well and I didn’t see a neck sticking out like I normally do. Plenty of those pterodactyls around here too.
