Canada is in the north and this is a post a bout finance! Pretty simple. Plus, I have upgraded my experience to Premium on @inLeo and it has been 8 whole months since the last edition!

This edition, I am powering up and loving a renewed blockchain resolution, and onboarding new clients to share their neat projects.

HPUD!

It appears that #hpud is experiencing some technical difficulties and I have just let liquid $hive pile up a while anyway. Not only is this my biggest single powerup at over 600, it is my biggest investment into HBD savings as well. Part of me resents putting HBD into savings because it hampers my obsession with scooping up Hive during dips, but the other parts love the savings growing in the best stable coin around. Besides that, check out the interest payment of another $16 on top of that! Starting to cherish my HBD savings even more!

Holozing

Another neat development lately has been the the emergence of @holozing! Because of the people I love to follow, I heard about this game in development fairly early on. Airdrops based upon $posh balance, HP delegation to @holozing and contributing to the liquidity pool all made for a pretty neat December when there was the bonus for claiming daily. As for the gaming side of things, we are still waiting for a playable beta but have seen many developments as far as artwork, game mechanics hints and announcements, and some recent fan art which is exciting to see. It has the potential to be my first real Hive game which is long overdue but the run up to launch is such a neat thing to behold and actually be a part of for Web3.

Hive Engine Tokens

Inspired by the $zing rewards that came with having a balance of $posh tokens, I managed to snag a big fistful of those for future projects. You can't presently power those up but I took the opportunity to power up some of my other favourites including #pimp #beer #pob and even Leo as I work more with that platform. Having fun contributing to the short format #threads and love being able to participate in what twitter should be.

Having let the tokens pile up a while, it was neat to power up a few stacks of them and put them to work in my Hive business!

Digital Marketing

As part of my new years resolutions, I vowed to leverage our business account @town-crier which is our blockchain presence for https://towncriermarketing.ca. From a client standpoint, the content and backlinks are fantastic for SEO and they are enjoying the social blog content as they build their businesses. We used the one posted Thursday https://hive.blog/hive-167922/@town-crier/happy-anniversary-spiritleaf as a little congratulations to one of our clients celebrating a 3rd anniversary in business. They are a little handcuffed on social media being in the marijuana dispensary business and weren't really able to publicize their event. We don't have that problem with our large local following so we leveraged that to promote them as business owners and avoid getting cancelled on centralized social media.

Won't it be nice when businesses can diversify their income, boost their own SEO and even reward attention and engagement in their brick and mortar businesses by leveraging Hive? Hopefully some of them will discover it through our blog and example because this will be a game changer for small business and #shoplocal.

Here are a few highlights from what we have been working on this month.

Winter Driving!

A new and up and coming driving school https://stratfordfds.ca has leveraged our services for local exposure as they focused on branding. As far as we are concerned branding isn't worth a damn if it doesn't result in sales so that is where we have focused our attention. Telling the story and sharing the successes of young adults becoming safe drivers, especially when there is snow on the roads, has been the theme of January. We won't stop til we put them on top and love seeing the smiling faces of the next generation of drivers along the way.

Winter is Coming

We have started working with a very crafty business who does very well with, consider this, oven mits! Not something I would consider new and exciting except they have the wildest styles and patterns that are very popular! Not only that, https://mscreations.ca uses scraps for a vast array of other neat products including dog bandanas, cup cozies, soup bowl holders and scrunchies. Fun to help independent artists and craftspeople run their business!

New Year's Crossfit!

We have also started working with https://crossfitstratford.com helping them attract new members looking to get active, improve their lives and redefine what their bodies can do. I know the value of having fun and being productive in a physical routine and it is great to be connect with the right kind of people. Great culture and supporting a family run business who is determined to help get the community active is definitely fulfilling.

Winter Film Festival!

Another very neat project has been promoting and planning a brand new film festival in our small town. The winter gets a little lazy around these parts and this event is a welcome attraction to get people out, enjoying local venues, and celebrating film. Half a dozen venues, 9 films and 1 weekend pass will bring hundreds of people to our town and give them an alternative to watching Taylor Swift as a cheerleader during commercialfest next weekend. Hopefully it will go off as well as we plan so that it can become a yearly event.

That is a snapshot of some of the finance and community going on up north in my neck of the woods. Never a dull day it seems on the blockchain, in brick and mortar business, and working hard to meld those together for web3-enhanced commerce.
