Late Summer Small Town Walk

The day started out rainy and cool but warmed up a little when the sun made showing.

A little driving on the way under blue skies isn’t so bad.

Sitting on the steps of city hall looking north, some shadows and scattered clouds. At least no rain like last week.

Market square is a little emptier in September when some tourists are back at school and given up on the summer.

From under the awning at the theatre, it almost looks like a ghost town. Far cry from the crowds even a week ago.

It was paper day where we spend a couple hours delivering the news to local businesses.

Nice to feel the cooler nights already but the trees are holding onto their green for the most part.

Along the little guy to the park, there are a few maples that are showing some colour. Once I stop battling the fall, there will be some vibrant leaf colours to share.

Plenty of fair weather dog walkers in the park while the temperatures are still warm enough and there is still sun in the evening.

Taking a peek in the garden, the Carolina Reapers are starting to look scary. So many of them to share as 1 or 2 in our hot sauce can make a whole batch painfully hot.

I have my Wednesday walks on Thursday and the sun has gone down on this one. Thanks for walking with me.

The same here, the temperature has gone down. Those cooler nights must feel refreshing after a hot summer ,)

I do love not having to keep the air conditioning running. If it could get up to 24 Celsius every day for a few more weeks, that might be perfect!

Do you also call these late summery days Indian summer in Canada?

At the risk of getting cancelled by indigenous rights activists, yes! Well kinda. I refuse to admit summer is over until at least sept 21st so maybe if there is a heat wave of 30 Celsius in late sept.

Lovely shot and beautiful scenes. The environment still looks greenish😊
Why was some areas deserted and looked like a ghost town? It seems there is less commercial activities there and most people have moved to the cities. Or is it because of the weather?

This town is a tourist destination with all of the live theatre. When the school year starts, many people ease up on their travel so the first week of sept can make for a slow down. Compared to the very busy summer months that is.

Thank you kindly! I might not stop and look around as much if it wasn’t to share here on hive. I am sure it will look as nice to someone across the world as their views do for me.

Well you should because many people would kill to get type of view in their environment

Ya man it seems it was 30/90 all summer then boom! Instantly cool fall temps. Makes the pepper start to ripen quicker!

The pepper looks hot just from looking at it 😂 at least it's a perfect touch of heat to balance the cool evenings but I have a little threshold for hot stuff

Haha yes me too. My threshold is somewhere around Habanero.

You can see the numbers here and know that reapers are WELL beyond my threshold. I will probably only use 3 total in all the hot sauce we make and maybe share the rest with friends who like ridiculous heat.

The weather has become exactly like this in our city too. It gets quite cold at night, but it is still hot during the day. Slowly, the cold is starting to set in.

Sure makes for great sleeping weather when it is cool and you can hear the breeze or rain outside!
