#thoughtfuldailypost - The Truth and Winning at Life

That time of week again to get thoughtful for #ThoughtfulDailyPost! @Wesphilbin waves the flag for us and runs @thoughtfulpost as the curation account that rewards thoughtful posts. Please join us in sharing your positive vibes on the blockchain and consider delegating.
I hit enter too quickly on these few bits of internet wisdom that caught my eye and qualified for discussion with a fantastic legion of followers, engagers and weirdos connected through the #hive blockchain. Now with added music!

A Lion

Augustine of Hippo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustine_of_Hippo is a theologian, philosopher, and and the bishop of Hippo Regius in Numidia, Roman North Africa. You may also know him as Saint Augustine so it appears he was smart AND holy!
You know you have to be legit if your meme has you in statue format as the background! The truth is like a lion. I love a good simile and a little Anthropomorphism doesn't hurt either. The truth is vicious, voracious and a predator that we don't have to defend. That is comforting to know these days as it seems to be under attack and often a wolf in lions clothing.
Let it loose and it will defend itself! Just imagining the truth unleashed in the world, the respect it gets and the way lesser truths would give it a wide berth. Seems there are a million digital trophy hunters who arm themselves with the latest of weapons to bring down a trophy truth. Maybe we should continue to let it loose and occasionally snipe a poacher or 2 as they show themselves.
I know I should be playing Eye of the Tiger or some White Lion for this one. I just can't get my mind off loose so here is a little Footloose for the lions.

Winning!

A little sleuthing has brought me to Ralph Smartas the author of this one! He is a British psychologist, writer, alchemist, researcher, presenter, musician, graphic artist, filmmaker & endless being. Quite a resume!
How to win at life. He certainly knows how to get my attention with a headline. Step 1 suggests we are about to get a nice regimented plan on how to do this. So far so good! Let people do what they need to do to make them happy. Not to be confused with doing what they want.....this usually doesn't lead to happiness. Sometimes it is tough to decipher want and need so let us just err on the side of letting people be.
Mind your own business. There is definitely merit to that as well in many situations. I might forego happiness to do the right thing occasionally but lets keep rolling.
Do what you need to do to make you happy. Sometimes that is not always clear but it does seem like happiness is winning. What's next? The end. Simple as that huh? Let it be, eyes on your own paper, focus on your own happiness. Might just give that a try!
I was going to end with The End but found you a good live medley that ends with The End by Sir Paul.

Bonus Funny Thought

This one pretty much speaks for itself. I usually try and find the good in everyone so it is possible I have made excuses for nasty people at some point. That being the case, I suppose some will call an asshole a vase but I am not inviting them to decorate my house.

I highly recommend you to join this movement as the world needs your wisdom and the blockchain is a place to share it. If you completely agree, you have the option to delegate to @thoughfulposts to increase the rewards for positivity.
https://hive.blog/introduceyourself/@thoughtfulposts/thoughtfulposts-introduction-or-a-thoughtfuldailypost is the post that started it all over 3 years ago!
I invite you to pen your own #thoughtfuldailypost any day of the week and share your insight on the world through your blog.

I am honoured to curate for:

So I'm even older than gen x. What's my look?
Love me some Cyndi. Love that particular song. I wonder what she's doing now.
I have started a half dozen or more thoughtful daily posts, and I have abandoned them all. Hm. Maybe I'm over thinking them.
Man you are quick on the draw tonight! If you look again, you will see an entirely different post a my finger strayed to the enter key. I think I have seen Cyndi on a bunch of cameo live appearances so I think she is still at it.
If you are overthinking it, start with a funny one or just post it. If I have proven anything it is that you can just ramble yourself into conversation and thoughtfulness is just about those moments in the journey that don't have to be perfect.
Let it free!
Where did Cyndi go?! I love that song!
Yes. At least the urge to write a thoughtful post gets me thinking, so not all is ever lost. Sometimes I have a fabulous idea, but when I arrive at my computer, I have forgotten it.
We appreciate you taking the time, to either use #ThoughtfulDailyPost, or otherwise help this Community grow. So...
Thank you!!
We can all win at life. Just as long as we remember to grab that hand when we fall... Wp
all great stuff. I particularly like the one about "How to win at life." If everyone did that the world would be a much better place. I believe there is so much unnecessary drama created by toxic people on this planet of ours.
Indeed. Sometimes it even comes from a good place when we feel the need to help someone but are really trying to rescue them. We can’t rescue people and should just help them be happy
That’s a nice quote on truth and you are right
Also, this is my first time hearing of Paul McCartney but he’s so good
I like that
Hi. I agree with your reflections, specially with the idea of Focus on our own lifes. This is a wise choice.
For me, this one seemed to linger because of all of the past weeks contemplating similar subjects. Realizing that trying to rescue people is futile, and calculating the value of letting people find their own happiness was summed up in this one pretty well.
I just read that a sign of intelligence is recognizing one's own ignorance and perhaps we are just ignorant to how other people will find happiness? Let's keep it simple and focus on our happiness first.
Wisdom is best when shared and discussed with eachother so I am so glad you stopped to reply!
Perfectly said. The truth will always and always defend itself no matte what may be
