Giving delegation is a blessing for those people who don't have enough time for curation other user posts. No curation to fellow user post simply means you are wasting your Hive Power. So that's why people prefer to give Hive Power delegation to fellow user in order to earn delegation fee reward. So, passive income is generated without doing any efforts.

Delegate also receive a portion of curation reward on sharing delegation. Giving delegation is good for community growth. People grow with taking delegation and build their portfolio. So, giving delegation also helps fellow user to grow in this amazing community.

There is no big cons of giving delegation. Giving delegation to fellow user has drawback like you loose control over your HP delegation for certain period of time. Your repute may be affected if someone misuse your Hive power. But there is no need to worry if some one is abusing your delegation power. You can cancel delegation any time. Another disadvantage of giving delegation is that it will take 5 days to wait for receiving delegation back in case you stop delegating power.
