Find the happiness around you!

What's the essence of living when you don't have happiness? I mean, let's see it in this angle, imagine having a whole lot of money, money that you know that even to the 5th generation to come, they will still not be able to embezzle it finish, but you can't spend it?

Will you feel complete? Will you be happy? Will you be able to stand in front of your other rich dudes and interrogate as a rich person? Obviously no, you'll feel intimidated, even though you know that you are supposed to be rich, but you just are not rich...

Same thing goes to living and you are not happy, you are not having peace, you are just Alive, you can breath, you can eat, you can probably get yourself anything you need in your life, go anywhere you wish to go, but even at that, you are not happy, you lack joy, you are missing a very important and fun part of being a human being...

I was talking with a friend yesterday, and she was like he misses her old self, and I got a bit confused, what did you mean by you miss your old self, cause to me, she's a very great person with very great personalities, so what exactly do you miss...

And then she opened up a little to me, saying that she used to be a very interesting and jovial person, (That I know about her) everyone she's in contact with always wants to be with her, she loves meeting new people, and all those kinds of extroverted lifestyle, but unfortunately for her she feels like that part of her life has died, and now, she wishes to back...

Then I asked her, what does your life seem like nowadays?

Then she was like she doesn't know, she could just pretend to people that she's so okay, and deep down, she knows she's not fine, she keeps things to herself now, she cries a whole lot, and it has become a constant thing that she does, she almost does it everyday, (which I know its very very unusual of her) she worries too much, she's so scared of everything, she scared of loosing anyone, and she told me some other things she has a whole lot she's out of control of...

I got pretty confused, what could I do to comfort her? How do I comfort someone that it seems like the person might soon run into depression? I got really comfy, but then, I thought of some experiences that I have either seen or been through, told her how I scaled through them.

I also told her that at this point that she is, she should just ask God to help her, cause she might be too weak to want to come out of what she facing. I encouraged her, and I made her smile again

Happiness is one thing that satisfy our mind, our soul, and if we loose our joy, our happiness, nothing will interest us better, not even the values of the world.

Do not always stay in doors, and one of the reasons why is this saying
An idle mind is the Devil's workshop
It might sound as a mint, but trust me, it's when you are so idle, that both healthy and unhealthy, but mostly unhealthy ideas will be passing through your mind, and one day, if you do not leave that your comfortable idle sit, you'll start exhibiting those unhealthy activities which are already taking action inside your head to reality...

Then you'll realise that you've gone quite wild and you are not even safe to yourself, not to talk of others around you...

Always try to engage yourself in something, never settle for loneliness, never settle for depression, it might not look like it, you'll not even know that you are already in that state yet, until your attention is being called to it by another person, maybe family or friends.

There's peace around you, that I can assure you, but the only step you need to take is to find it, and you'll be grateful that you did.
If there's anything I'll advise we all, it's that never loose your joy and happiness, cause they are part of the greatest achievement we can have as a human being.

When it comes to overcoming sadness being intentional about overcoming it can't be overemphasized and like you said one way to do that is by engaging ourselves in different activities, being idle is dangerous and could worsen the situation.

Idleness is a killer, it's the problem of many people. If we are engaged I am sure we won't have the luxury of time to be thinking about irreverent things that might end up snatching our happiness.

What your friend fails to understand is she is till her, we can't find happiness anywhere else rather than from within us, If I were here, I'll appreciate and embrace what I have now, the moments and everything then keep working on those areas I feel needs to be corrected. Life is short, let's enjoy it and be happy while we still have it
