Warhammer 40k - Review Library 422 - Drukhari, Cronos
The pain parasite! Really grimdark...
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - Datasheet Review post! I have recently needed to take a new direction. All the details about that is found Here - The Great 40k Review Plan
This is not to just regurgitate the stats and skills. I give my own estimation about what I think of the unit and its abilities. Often... about how to use them best... or how to kill them best!
Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
I will do a new estimation of what I owe soon!
Back to the review!
Drukhari, Cronos
10th Edition Index
You pay 50pts for one, you can either take 1 or 2, making a unit of 2 monsters!
Let's check their stats!
Stats

Toughness 7
Save 3+/6++/5+++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 7
Ld 6+
OC 2
Weapons
Weapon Loadout: Spirit Syphon and Spirit-Leech Tentacles and any number of models in the unit can be equipped with Spirit Vortexes... so why not?
Ranged Weapons
Spirit Syphon
12" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on Auto, S5, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Torrent (Hits are automatic, just roll for number of shots)
Ignores Cover (Target cannot get benefit of cover against these attacks)
Spirit Vortex
18" Range, D6 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S5, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Ignores Cover (Target cannot get benefit of cover against these attacks)
Blast (+1 shot for every 5 models in the target unit, rounding down)
Melee Weapons
Spirit-leech tentacles
4 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S5, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Pain Parasite
Each time a Pain token is used within 9" of this unit, on a roll of 4+, you gain 1 pain token
Thoughts
So it is a Pain token farm. While 50pts is not much to pay for a Monster unit, they are not very powerful. If you are going to run them in multiples, you may as well first play 2-3 induvidual Cronos units. There is no cap on using that ability for multiple units per time that a pain token is used.
This means, hypothetically, one Cronos can cover one 18" bubble on one side of a battlefield and another Cronos on the other side, but where one unit uses a Pain token within 9" of BOTH Cronos, you can roll 4+ twice!
Unless an FAQ says otherwise... (Looking) and nope, you can stack them! From now until the new Drukhari Codex.
Thank you for reading!
