Warhammer 40k - Review Library 383 - Chaos Daemons, Fateskimmer
Slightly different from the other horror on a chariot thing... but it fulfills a different function. We are getting to know the enemy!

Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - Datasheet Review post!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit in the game of Warhammer 40,000
The last of the Indexes! A new challenge!
Right, I am finally ahead and by my best estimations as I explained in this Post, I should be able to keep ahead of the release curve and get the remainder of the Indexes reviewed before those Codex releases.
So I embark on a new challenge. I have calculated that there are roughly 148 reviews to do. I have chosen my frequency and have given myself 96 days to review them all. That means that I am aiming at Day 96 being the 21st of July 2025!
Today is Day 19/96.
I have reviewed 30/148.
Time elapsed: 19.79%
Review Completion: 20.27%
A little ahead! Good!
Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $226 to pay off!
Every bit counts!
Back to the review!
Chaos Daemons, Fateskimmer
10th Edition Index
Right... this and the Burning Chariot look very similar. They both have a disc of Tzeetch being drawn by two Screamers (The manta looking things). The Burning Chariot has what looks like an Exalted Flamer riding it, this Fateskimmer looks like it is mounted by a Pink Horror.
The Burning Chariot is a Mounted unit that operates on its own. Meanwhile this Fateskimmer can lead and buffs a unit of Screamers. The benefits are different!
This model is 95pts.
Let's check their stats and abilities!
Stats
Movement 12"
Toughness 7
Save 6+/4++ (armor/invul/Feel No Pain)

Psychic (This weapon has the Psychic keyword)

Melee Weapons
Herald combat weapon
3 Attack, Hitting on 4+, S4, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Screamer Bites
6 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S6 AP-2 and 2 Damage each.
Extra Attacks (You can make this attack in addition to other attacks)
Anti-Monster 4+ (Scores critical wounds against Monsters on a 4+ regardless of toughness)
Anti-Vehicle 4+ (Scores critical wounds against Vehicles on a 4+ regardless of toughness)
Abilities
Deep Strike - If this unit arrives on the Battlefield from Reserves, it can be set up anywhere on the battlefield more than 9" from enemy models.
Fateskimmer
While this model is leading a unit, melee weapons have the Lethal Hits rule. (This means that rolls of 6 to Hit automatically cause wounds.)
Rider of the Immaterial Winds
Once per battle, if at the end of your opponent's turn, this unit is not in Engagement with the enemy, they can be removed from the board and placed into reserves.
Thoughts
This is a Tzeetch unit that specializes in buffing the melee capabilities of Screamers. The latter being the manta-looking things who have anti-monster/vehicle keywords are getting Lethal Hits as well. A lot of hits are going come through from these beasties challenging the armor of your vehicles/monsters.
Then it has the once per have dissapear. Good for two things:
- Finding a new target.
- Distraction.
One moment they are moving hot and fast up your one flank out of view, the next minute they are gone and on another part of the battlefield.
That is fairly good. But not an over the top powerful unit.
That makes 18 Chaos Daemon Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 36% Completed! The total of the remaining Index reviews is now 115.
Thank you for reading!
