Warhammer 40k - Review Library 376 - Chaos Daemons, Burning Chariot

Nightmare omens made manifest... probably. I really cannot make out what it looks like most of the time.

Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - Datasheet Review post!

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit in the game of Warhammer 40,000

The last of the Indexes! A new challenge!

Right, I am finally ahead and by my best estimations as I explained in this Post, I should be able to keep ahead of the release curve and get the remainder of the Indexes reviewed before those Codex releases.

So I embark on a new challenge. I have calculated that there are roughly 148 reviews to do. I have chosen my frequency and have given myself 96 days to review them all. That means that I am aiming at Day 96 being the 21st of July 2025!

Today is Day 15/96.
I have reviewed 23/148.

Time elapsed: 15.62%
Review Completion: 15.54%
Basically on par.

Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear

With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.

I am collecting funds in the following ways:

  • Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
  • Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
  • Selling some of the collection to friends.

At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $226 to pay off!

Every bit counts!

Back to the review!

Chaos Daemons, Burning Chariot

10th Edition Index

If there was ever a unit that made me say "What the hell is that?" it would be this unit...

This is a squiggly oobily-boo breathing fire while riding on a disc on fire, towed by sky-mantas...

And there will be some horrors surfing along with them.

This model is 115pts.

Let's check their stats and abilities!

Abilities

Deep Strike - If this unit arrives on the Battlefield from Reserves, it can be set up anywhere on the battlefield more than 9" from enemy models.

Eldritch Flames (Psychic)

In your shooting phase, select one enemy unit hit by this model's attacks, that unit cannot get Benefit of Cover until the end of the phase.

Thoughts

This thing is a lot tougher that it looks. It has pretty decent shooting and a fair bit of melee threat. If fighting units that cannot hurt T9 then good job. Or using this unit to bite off a couple of remaining wounds on a big target seems quite possible.

The removal of Benefit of Cover is good for follow-up shooting meaning in their playing style, the Burning Chariot should start firing on a target first. Good to know.

That makes 11 Chaos Daemon Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 22% Completed! The total of the remaining Index reviews is now 122.

Thank you for reading!

I like this kind of stuff ! Some of the best models GW makes. I just wish they'd write rules so that Chaos Daemons could be used both in 40K and fantasy (AoS or OW). So few of the models carry obvious scifi weapons or equipment, it would be awesome to see Blue Horrors swarming a Brettonian or Empire army 😁

Leave it to tzeetch to make true horrors which are incomprehensible to the human mind.
