Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - Datasheet Review post!

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit in the game of Warhammer 40,000

The last of the Indexes! A new challenge!

Right, I am finally ahead and by my best estimations as I explained in this Post, I should be able to keep ahead of the release curve and get the remainder of the Indexes reviewed before those Codex releases.

So I embark on a new challenge. I have calculated that there are roughly 148 reviews to do. I have chosen my frequency and have given myself 96 days to review them all. That means that I am aiming at Day 96 being the 21st of July 2025!

Today is Day 9/96.
I have reviewed 13/148.

Time elapsed: 9.37%
Review Completion: 8.78%
About 1 under par.

Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear

With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.

I am collecting funds in the following ways:

  • Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
  • Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
  • Selling some of the collection to friends.

At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $236 to pay off!

Every bit counts!

Back to the review!

Imperial Knights, Knight Paladin

10th Edition Index

The Knight Paladin hits a sweet spot between melee and ranged threat. It is not the master of either but he is reliable in both. It can deal damage from very far away and it deals even more damage at mid-range. When it gets into combat it can handle itself as good as most Knights save for the close combat specialists.

I would say that this Knight can show a bit more patience.

They are 405pts to field.

Let's check its stats and abilities!

Abilities

Deadly Demise D6 (When this model is destroyed, roll a dice to see if it explodes. On a 6 it does so, dealing D6 damage to every unit within 6" of this model)

Seasoned Noble

Once per Phase, this model can re-roll one To Hit, To Wound or Save dice.

Paladin’s Duty

Bondsman ability. Therefore this model can use this ability in the Command Phase to select one Armiger. That Armiger can gains Lethal Hits and Lance on its weapons.

Thoughts

Like I said. Reliable.

Let me break it down:

Re-roll a Hit, Wound or Save.
Your turn Shooting Phase - One critical Wound roll is generally what you want to re-roll here
Your turn Fight Phase - If the enemy is going to hit first or if the enemy is going to survive your initial attack, re-roll a Save or if the enemy just needs to die no matter the cost then to Hit or Wound as needed.
Your opponent's Shooting Phase - Re-roll a Save!
Your opponent's Fighting Phase - Same as in your own. Saves trump Hit/Wound.

Thus this ability is more a defensive ability but it is really very good!

Bondsman ability: Works for either Helverins or Warglaives. It could boost a Helverin for Lethal Hits shooting early game and then inspire a Warglaive with Lethal and Lance on the turn it needs to charge and sally forth, the Warglaive already grants itself Sustained Hits on that turn so the combination is amazing!

That makes 8 Imperial Knight Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 72.72% Completed! The total of the remaining Index reviews is now 135.
