Warhammer 40k - Iron Priests Lore! Plus a Short video!

There is a habit in the lore of the Space Wolves Legion/Chapter in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, that they tend to march to the beat of their own drum.

There may be rules that are set down in stone across other Space Marine Chapters that seem immutable and universal.

Then the Space Wolves come along and seem to be doing their own thing and it would SEEM like they do this out of a sense of rebelliousness and lawlessness.

It is quite the opposite!

It is BECAUSE of their laws and oaths (promises) that make them this way!

One example is Iron Priest armor colors.

Techmarines in all other Chapters wear red armor after they return from the Adeptus Mechanicus as a member of both the Chapter and the Mechanicus.

The Space Wolf Iron Priests do not change their armor colour due to a relationship forged before the other Chapters. There is a Mechanicus presance on Fenris. Since the time of the Crusades and now still... It actually is once of the three ways to become a Space Wolf - Through the Forges!
