Warhammer 40k - I am commissioned to build some Custodes!

Hello everyone! Zak here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is the hobby of Warhammer 40,000.

The hobby of Warhammer 40k has a lot of facets to it. To the outsider, you might just see the art and a bunch of guys playing a board game with little men.

But once you get a little bit more involved and scratch the surface, you will find that there is a lot more to it than that.

There are ranges of models that you buy, unassembled on grey plastic sprues. You then cut and clean them, assemble them or modify them to get the look you want.

Then comes painting. Basecoating the miniature in a primer and then painting various layers depending on your skill to make a good looking or realistic looking figurine.

The base that the model stands on also needs some attention, giving you a massive amount of variety to work with to make it look like your models are standing on anything from a city-scape to ice world to hellscape and anything else you mind may be able to concieve.

And that's not even dealing with anything about playing the game!

So it comes to no surprise that no-one's surprise that we are not all equally good at all the levels of the hobby. I can paint fairly well, but not as well as the masters of painting. I must say my painting has come a long way, even in the last while that I have gotten back into the hobby.

My friend @xenowolfza is great at painting and he can build anything but he is not that fast at building and it is not a part of the modelling side of the hobby that he enjoys.

So it takes him forever and takes away time from him to actually paint the minis and this is the part he enjoys a lot.

So he is hiring me to build the Custodes for him!

We got together at his house and discussed what I need to do for him. Basically I will be building 15x on foot models which will count as 1x Shield-Captain and 14x as Custodian Guard as well as 3x Dawneagle bikers, one of which will be a Shield Captain.

Of course, we did this in the dark since it was load shedding! Haha!

So keep your eyes peeled as I get stuck in and build these awesome minis!
