Warhammer 40k - Army Rule Review 10 - Chaos Daemon Index - The Shadow of Chaos
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - Datasheet Review post!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit in the game of Warhammer 40,000
The last of the Indexes! A new challenge!
Right, I am finally ahead and by my best estimations as I explained in this Post, I should be able to keep ahead of the release curve and get the remainder of the Indexes reviewed before those Codex releases.
So I embark on a new challenge. I have calculated that there are roughly 148 reviews to do. I have chosen my frequency and have given myself 96 days to review them all.
Today is Day 45/96.
I have reviewed 66/148.
Time elapsed: 46.87%
Review Completion: 44.59%
Now more than 2% behind.
Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $226 to pay off!
Every bit counts!
Back to the review!
Who are the Chaos Daemons?
They are the terror from the Beyond. From the Warp they come, by the capricious will of the Greater Chaos Gods, they come to realspace to terrorize and consume.
Their forms and shapes change and alter to suit the target that they face. They will always embody what those with sould percieve as evil, powerful and menacing.
Army Rule - The Shadow of Chaos
10th Edition Index
That Chaos Daemon's rule is all about board control.
- The Chaos Daemon Deployment zone is always considered to be within this army's Shadow of Chaos.
- At the start of any phase, should the Chaos Daemons hold more than half of the objectives in No-Mans-Land, then the No-Mans-Land is within this army's Shadow of Chaos.
- At the start of any phase, should the Chaos Daemons hold more than half of the objectives in their opponent's Deployment zone, then the their opponent's Deployment zone is within this army's Shadow of Chaos.
Daemonic Manifestation.
While a Choas Daemon unit from your army is within this army's Shadow of Chaos they get a +1 to Battle-shock tests made by that unit. If this test is passed, they regain up to D3 lost wounds. If the unit has the Battleline keyword then they return up to D3 destroyed models to the unit instead.
Daemonic Terror
If an enemy unit is within this army's Shaod of Chaos and/or they are within 6" of a Greater Daemon, then each time that unit makes a Battle-Shock tests, subtract 1 from the roll. Also, should the test fail, that model takes 3 mortal wounds.
Thoughts
I feel that this is a good army rule and suits the aggression of the Daemon army. Load up of close combat and some Greater Daemons and you should really be set.
There are 6 Detachments incoming:
- Daemonic Incursion (the OG Index Detachment)
- Shadow Legion
- Scintillating Legion
- Plague Legion
- Legion of Excess
- Blood Legion
