Kowalski! Analysis. Reviews and other 40k posts. What do I need to do to complete my Hobby Fund target?
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from the Southern tip of Africa (well sort of). As those of you who know me know... I do posts about Warhammer 40,000.
On a weekly basis, I also do a Warhammer 40k - Hive Savings Fund post where I detail how much I have make towards my 40k savings goals.
I only keep HALF of my post reward for my hobby and the other half goes either towards my household in the short run or into my Hive stake in the short run.
So be clear:
If I choose to hoard HIVE for the hobby fund, the HBD becomes personal use.
OR
If I choose to collect HBD for the hobby fund, the HP earned goes towards my Hive Stake and is for me personally.
Why do I do this? Well, because my hobby is great and I deserve to have a hobby fund but I also want the effort of posting about my hobby to benefit me and my family in a good way too.
So... I have a hobby fund... right now the accumulation is a bit down... but I did buy a huge amount of models for a fraction of the price... effectively spending a portion of my accumulated HIVE at a x6 factor. So yeah. I got a store value of $1.8 per HIVE on that purchase... not bad!
Since the last time HIVE was at that price was December 28, 2021.... I think I did quite fine!
In the meantime, I am not Hobby-debt free.
I still owe my friend Nicholas around R6015 for a collection of Blood Angels and other stuff that I got from him... also at a decent price.
At the last Warhammer Savings Fund post - Warhammer 40k - Hive Savings Fund 2025 - Week 9 ($291.006 to go!), I counted that R6015 as $326 and that I have $291 to go!
Nic was not in a rush and told me to pay it when I have a chance. However... he needs his own hobby funds and he has a new Age of Sigmar army launch and his Death Guard for Warhammer 40,000 are getting a new release in 2025. So he will need some of that money and thus the heat is on for me to produce those funds!
Week 8 tally
But how long will it take me to really work that away?
Well... Let's first look at the block of posts for Week 8's post:
1- Post Payout for Warhammer (Warhammer 40k - Hive Savings Fund 2025 - Week 7 ($468.317 to go!))
0.235 HBD

0.776 HBD

0.490 HP

2.347 HBD
6.910 HP
9- Post Payout for Warhammer (Warhammer 40k - Army Rule Review 7 - Thousand Sons Index - Cabal of Sorcerers)
0.512 HBD

10- Post Payout for Warhammer (Warhammer 40k - Review Library 258 - World Eaters, Eightbound)
0.959 HBD
2.825 HP
11- Post Payout for Warhammer (Warhammer 40k - Review Library 259 - Death Guard, Death Guard Chaos Spawn)
0.197 HBD
0.582 HP
12- Post Payout for Warhammer (Warhammer 40k - My Christmas gifts and Donations additions to my army!)
0.408 HBD
1.210 HP
13- Post Payout for Warhammer (Warhammer 40k - Review Library 260 - Thousand Sons, Infernal Master)
0.040 HBD
0.119 HP
14- Post Payout for Warhammer (Warhammer 40k - Hive Savings Fund 2025 - Week 8 ($304.068 to go!))
0.858 HBD
2.566 HP
Totals:
HBD: 9.062
HP: 26.947
Thus 26.947HP was earned for my own personal use in this case and $9.062 was put towards the Hobby Fund! Neat!
Well... that is 14 posts resulting in an average of $0.647 HBD reward per post average. That needs an average post value of $2.589 to pull off!
I actually think that that week was fairly exceptional and that the current week is not going to be nearly as impressive. There are currently 13x 40k posts on the pending roll for the new week. With another 5 going for the week after that.
Hive is like that. I have already written the posts that will be on the rewards post for Week 10 and I am busy with the posts for Week 11.
Week 10 forecast
At a rough forecast, the new week is 13 posts giving me: $20.90 total and should result in about $5.225 HBD. This makes an average of $0.401 HBD reward per post average.
This is indeed lower than the previous week. Adding them together gives us an even broader average.
14 +13 posts = 27 posts.
$9.062 + $5.225 = $14.287
Average per post: $0.529
So there is more of less my answer. In 13-14 posts I make $5-9 but I average at $0.50 per post over 27 posts.
I have 291 to go... so would that be 582 posts to go?
305 days left of the year. 1.9 hobby posts per day.
The question is... will that math add up? Or is there more analysis I need to make?
Time will tell... but in the meantime - I shall keep posting!
I have a target and I have been challenged to do so!
Thank you for reading!
Cheers!
