Inward Patience - An exploration of thought

Often, when we tell someone else to be patient, it is because they are behaving in a rash and thoughtless manner. They seem to be in a big rush, and this causes this haste-over-thought behaviour.

We counsel others to slow down and to think a little. We tell them to beware the dangers.

A person can counsel themselves. A person who does not is an impatient person. A person who is good at giving and listening to their own counsel will appear to be a patient person as they will be outwardly calm and patient.

Some people might visibly be steadying themselves, others seem to be cal as a cucumber at all times. Inside, they still have moments of panic.

But none of these is the concept for my titular reference. I just wanted to create a baseline.

The inward patience of which I speak is patience regarding the self, self-image, and progress. It is often because of outside pressure, from family or society in general, that causes us to feel as though we should have progressed more than we really have.

There is a feeling that we are not growing fast enough, that we are not as successful as we ought to be etc etc.

I have felt these feelings many times and all I can say after nearly 40 years old, is that like most things - stamina is more crucial than speed.

Consistency means showing up every day with a decent attitude and a decent "pressure" of pushing forward toward your goals. Rampant speed and sporadic bouts of progress gets you a little head start for that day, but if often does not get us to our goals.

This is because if most goals were achievable in one single day/interaction of progress then we would all have achieved our goals already!

This is the same as the saying: If it were easy, then everyone would have done it.

Growing a Hive account takes time and consistency. Whatever you post about, you need to show up every day and do it over and over. Growing a garden, building a home, improving your fitness, and the list goes on and on. None of those things are instant and only those with consistent and planned effort will have a chance at success.

This year I finally passed my Trade test for Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic. I have been in the trade for 11 - goign on 12 years now. It takes time.

This year, for financial reasons, I needed to power down my Hive account. I am finally back in a position to grow again. It had taken me years to go from Redfish to Dolphin and I am currently at the Minnow level again. It will take me time to move back up to my 8,000HP mark againa and for that I will need patience and consistency.

I am currently at the 195% Minnow position, or 1.95x Minnow... or 0.195x Dolphin. In other words 1/5th of the way there again.

I will do my best to keep at it, I have been slacking of late. It is time to kick the parking break off some of these things and get moving again.

Progress shall be made.

One step at a time.

I just have to have patience.

Thank you for reading this post!

Cheers!
