Burning the Midnight Oil.

It basically means staying up late to work. That is the mail saying and the oil and origin of the saying is that of the lantern that uses oil to burn.

However, personally I take this saying a step further and that is just to have it mean a bit more than what the original was meant to. Instead of just meaning that you work late I take it more as a concept that pertains to what we can still do today, BEFORE tomorrow comes!

So working till Midnight or into the early hours of the morning is one thing. But it can also mean that you do not pack up and leave 10mins before a shift is done and rather push and add one more benchmarked item. This might mean that you only get done 10mins after finishing time but you create for yourself a break and a gap that you can use the next day to plan your next move.

At work, this has caused me to become a team leader and then eventually Site Manager, Safety Officer and recently - a trainer.

In my private life I always put in the extra work and this has often put me into a position where I am doing some sort of organizing for our hobby groups to do something amazing.

But the next chapter is coming where I will need this attitude and ability more than ever!

I am speaking about me picking up my fiction writing again!

I have been reading through my old work. I am not completely caught up yet but my word! I am really loving this story! I sort of wished that I had written more just so I can enjoy the whole thing! Haha!

But alas, I shall read, catch up, re-immerse myself into the story and thus get myself into position where I can once again start to add to body of works.

Additionally, I am busy doing first round of edits for Mortis Custos, the first book in the series that myself and @lex-zaiya have been posting here on Hive. There are quite a few projects that requires my attention and effort and therefore I cannot leave a day without putting the effort into attaining just one more goal today instead of waiting for tomorrow!

This first book will be improved, additional scenes added and overall the published product will be a fuller and improved version of that story. Obviously this is going to lead towards a permanent and detailed geographical map that will contain all the relevant and important information on it.

I am busy going through the manuscript and it is evident that bits of smoothing is required. I am, however, really enjoying the book while reading it this way instead of the smaller parts the way we had published them on Hive!

Anyway, I have much to do. I just wanted to share these thoughts and I hope that someone reads it that will benefit from these thoughts! Until next time...
