GW Brings out Faction Packs. An improvement but still has gaps.
GW Managed to Fix most of my Legends issues... but still made a blunder.
Games Workshop has brought out Faction Packs as a way to fix together rules for Grotmas Detachments, Errata and FAQ and the Legends Rules. You can read about it on Warhammer-Community Here
This means that they have fixed 90% of the Legends of the Space Wolves they missed out on and completely ignored for the last few months as I highlighted in my post When Games-Workshop fails, you make your own plan. Legends never die!
So... I have my Legends back... but like I have mentioned, there are issues.
Fistoff, they gave us the Legends rules in summary but missed adding the points for Long Fangs and Hounds of Morkai.
Then, my other concern would be for different versions of characters. Especially named Characters.
In Space Wolves, this would mean Logan Grimnar and Njal Stormcaller.
Logan in the previous Index was on foot or on Stormrider. There was a Datasheet for each.
The Codex removed Stormrider (the grav sleigh). Then gave us a new Logan model with a Huuuuuge base with 2 wolves on the base and giving this model massive amounts of Wounds.
I feel like there should remain Legends rules to play his old version.
Same with Njal. Now back in Power armor. He was that originally. Power Armor, then Terminator Armor, now in Tacticus Mark X Power Armor. But then keep the Datasheet for his Terminator version!
This is coming up for Marnues Calgar of the Ultramarines too. A Primaris Gravis Armor Calgar was the latest iteration... Let's view them...
So he was in Power Armor with some attache's on the base. Then as a Power Armor Chapter Master, then Terminator Armor, in the new generation, he took the Rubicon and became a Primaris Space Marine and donned Gravis Armor and thatis the last model on the far right...
And then...
On the 14th September it was announced that Calgar is getting a new model... back in Terminator armor. No doubt bigger than the old terminator armor. I would remind you all that there is no such thing as a "Primaris Terminator" and that his increased size is just because of disguised scale creep.
And to quote them on that article: "Clad in the Armour of Antilochus, his iconic suit of Terminator armour, and wielding the Gauntlets of Ultramar, Marneus Calgar is a force to be reckoned with."
The Armour of Antilochus is the same suit.
Meanwhile... Right now, you can only play the Gravis Armor version, but when the above model launches, that option is likely to disappear and not even be Legends.
So there should be a Legends Logan on foot without wolves, a Legends Njal in Terminator Armor and a Legends Calgar in Gravis Armor.
Meanwhile, I would also just use the Index Grey Hunters and Blood Claws because how else will I use my Rhinos and Razorbacks? This is something comon sense that GW did not think about!
If you are going to allow rules for the Narrative game and provide longevity to these models and kits, then consider what models you are leaving behind.
So... I shall continue to apply my own contingencies to play these models and continue to give validity to certain units in my collection!
Thank you for reading!

Personal opinion: if you have ANY model for a character, make the base diameter and overall height match up with a simple stand of some kind and play it.
I fully intend on using old models with upsized bases and will play them just to piss off people who are stupid. !LOL
Honestly, it does not really both anyone that much.
