Final Week of my Project Management Course with UCT
Nearly Done with My Project Management Course with UCT
It's been nine weeks and it is now the start of the tenth and final week of my project management course with UCT online using the Getsmarter web portal. On GetSmarter, you can do courses with all sorts of universities all over the world. I'm using my local university, the University of Cape Town, to do this one.
The course has been very good, it has a lot of value in it. Project management is a crucial skill for anyone in a field where they have to manage a project, which is defined as a temporary work with a start and an end that needs to be managed in terms of cost and schedule. I think this course would be beneficial for anyone in a similar field.
The topics covered in this course range from identifying stakeholders, managing risk, and creating a work breakdown structure, to scheduling, costing, and managing your team. We've also learned about managing communications and measuring progress in specific ways that teach you how to look for certain things.
The final module is going to be about advancing the practice of project management. Although this course has taught me a lot, I feel that it's still just the tip of the iceberg, and there's much more to learn and specialize in within the field of project management. This realization is quite interesting.
Cheers!
