Blogging mindset, the art of killing procrastination

Source

Hey everyone.

It is time again for me to start blogging more often. I often have excuses for myself not making a post or an article. Usually they revolve around time, that there is not enough of it to write anything, or some other reason... but I have determined to create a mindset and schedule for myself where I DO blog every day.

This is Hive, the decentralized blogging platform. You can blog about anything. There is no boss and no editor. Because of this, nobody is going to kick you got doing nothing at all.

Also, nobody is going to censor you, unless you spam absolute garbage. It is however, a great place for anyone to have a good "waffle", and I realize that I do that quite a bit!

So part of the Blogging habit I need to re-establish with myself is that I should write something every day. If I don't have time then the blog post will be short. If I have more time, I will go into more detail.

This is Hive. It runs on activity and because there is no panel of writers churning out content on a daily basis for consumption, if we don't make use of the platform then the platform dies.

Here are my top procrastinators and how I am going to solve them:

I don't have time

Nobody is 100% time efficient. I just need to make it part of my daily routine and blog a short one if there is no time for a long blog.

I don't have a good picture for that

Funny enough, this has become an internal excuse as to why I cannot write a blog post... no cover photo available.

I will use stock images OR whatever random pictures I took and just write a damn post! No excuses!

I don't have anything specific planned out to blog about.

Then I will blog my thoughts, current news. I have already been cooking up the concept of NEWS in its essence... the way that we listen or hear 2nd hand or even completely edited versions of current events.

All the other reasons that I have for not writing seems to stem from one of those. So I just need to focus and not make things more complicated than they need to be.

How about you?

Just blog! The blockchain needs posts!

Thank you fo reading this post!

Cheers!

lol i also have this dilemma but my concern is that I'm genuinely busy and tired, I'm always locked in my office now but when i go out i try to make time to blog about it. aside from that, there's alsowaves now which kind of keeps me active and interacting with people and I think that's good enough for someone with such little breaks like me

Waves helps a bit and are a good side-dish but blogs are the main dish! 😁

yeah i get that, or I'd count it as a side just to be able to still interact at least

Writing requires discipline. I sometimes tell myself that I’m not yet well-disciplined because there are days when I don’t write. Maybe it’s also because I sometimes run out of topics or end up procrastinating.

Indeed! Sometimes we must just write about procrastinating! 🤣
