Back to a bit of normal for a bit!
We've done it and in record time! The current dry-dock in port project has been completed up to its Mechanical phase and we are ready to commission...
However... we will only be able to commission in about 2 weeks' time when they have flooded the dry dock to valve level at least. Only then is there enough water to commission the Chillers and the Provision plant, since they use Seawater through plate heat exchangers to cool down the condenser.
Anyway, what does that mean for me and the family?
Well, no more getting up at 4am to leave at 5:30am to be at the ship at 6:30am to start my shift and get my permits signed at 7:00am... only to finish on site most days at 19:00pm and get home at 20:00pm and then have to cook supper... for 6-7 days in a row.
Now I just work 7:30am till 16:00pm for the next two weeks but I might end up going back for some additional work.
However... I do not get a Saturday off today as we are doing a Safe Handling Course to get our registrations up to date.
Its like a driver's license. You do the course and do a test and a practical. Then you get a card and every 3 years you have to renew.
In South Africa, this usually just means re-doing the eye exam and doing paperwork... for the driver's.
But for Safe Handling for gas, you do the whole course!
Anyway... off I go to the course!
Have a great Saturday!
Cheers!

💪🏻 You will manage. 🧘🏼♂️
I will have to!
So I trimmed my hair, trimmed my beard, did the 1st day of the course... got home, went out to do some shopping.
And then at home, did some gardening and planned out some more DIY work... now I am having a break...
