8 Years on the Blockchain. The ups and downs and what it has taught me.
It is that time of the year again when it is my Blockchain birthday. I did not even realise that it was coming up!
I must say that I am at this point, feeling some mixed feelings about having achieved this goal. Because I am NOT where I wanted to be! Why? Well, I should have a stranger account with more HP, but I do not.
At the same time I am proud of what I have achieved and I am very happy and very grateful to Hive and the Hive experience.
How does all of that make sense?
Well, more or less, Hive saved my bacon!
If it were not for Hive, I would have been in even greater debt.
If it were not for Hive, I would not have learned key skills.
If it were not for Hive, I would not have had such a fierce determination and motivation.
It has not all been a chart with a gradual increase to success, confort and leisure.
It has not been easy.
I worked very long and very hard to maintain a gradual and steady growth. Then when the real world invaded and struck the family hard blows, I could cash out and pay the bills and cover us.
I continued to work hard through it all.
There was a little bit of relief and during this holiday of 2025 to 2026, I decided that I should rest. As well as I could.
And I did.
This account has made over 12,200HP in Author rewards and around 800HP in curation rewards for a total of 13,000HP! I am currently on just over 2,000HP.
The saving up and growth was well worth it. I needed to rest and now comes the time for me to start working again!

Hive is a great teacher for us all! It creates a sense of community whilst teaching us to be smart with our money and savings. Everyone has a slightly different approach to their Hive endeavours, some sloth, whilst others buzz. Hive allows for both types of users to succeed, some slower than others! Keep on buzzing, wishing you all the success for your Year 9 Hive adventure!

When you have dedicated 8 years to something, there have to be ups and downs... It's not a day at the beach, it's 8 YEARS! I suppose everyone has bumps on the road, some financial, some motivational, etc., but the most important of all is to continue building and growing!
One day you help HIVE, someone on this network, the other day HIVE helps you to get out from financial issues, or some Hivian helps you to get back on your feet... That's the biggest beauty of this place! I love it!
