Daydreaming of South Korea

One of the many countries I dream of visiting, and the first on the list right now, is South Korea. To be honest, the first thing that got me dreaming of trips to South Korea is their mouth-watering dishes, sometimes I stay and try to imagine what they would taste like by just watching videos of these dishes being prepared, but it's not possible 😭, it just makes my hunger worse 😂.

Then I got introduced to the famous BLACKPINK by my cousin, and I fell in love with the legendary Korean superstars.
I have only been able to get a glimpse of this Wonderful country through movies, the Internet, and K-pop culture, which is so different from the little confinement I know but still so captivating.
If I am ever able to visit South Korea like I always dream, I would taste every dish and attend as many concerts as possible!

The mouth watering delicacies 😋🤤

Yes, the first thing that drew me to South Korea was the food. I don't even need to go to every fancy restaurant, I could dedicate one night to strolling along the streets. I can imagine myself walking down the street filled with people and different delicacies just waiting for me to try them out.
First I would start my food journey with:

  1. Bulgogi- is a GUI made of thin, marinated slices of meat, most commonly beef, grilled on a barbecue or a stove-top griddle
  1. Sundubu- is a jjigae in Korean cuisine. The dish is made with freshly curdled extra soft tofu which has not been strained and pressed, vegetables, sometimes mushrooms, onion, optional seafood, optional meat, and gochujang or gochugaru.

I can't start listing and explaining all of them because there are many, Kimchi, Tteokbokki, Samgyeopsal, Bibimbap, Jjajangmyeon, Japchae, Kimbap, Dakgalbi, Naengmyeon, Hotteok, Hodugwaja. I had to stop there because looking all these dish spellings up got me salivating so badly already.

Innovation and cleanliness

One thing I have always heard and seen in the movies is how clean the places in South Korea are and how advanced they are. I would love to try out their bullet trains, delivery robots, and even their high-tech toilets 🤭.

High-speed internet & smart cities – Korea has one of the fastest internet speeds in the world.

KTX bullet trains – Traveling from Seoul to Busan in just a few hours!

Smart toilets & automation – Even public restrooms in Korea are high-tech.

Clean streets & organized systems – Everything looks so neat and efficient.

K-pop and entertainment

I want to get that ultimate fan experience; I mean, after all, one of the biggest reasons for my love for Korea is their K-pop idols.
The music, the performances, the fandom culture—everything about it is thrilling!

I imagine myself in a stadium filled with fans all waving our light sticks as we scream at the top of our voices together

“Don't you want me like I want you, baby?”
“Don't you need me like I need you now?”
“Sleep tomorrow, but tonight go crazy”
“All you gotta do is just meet me at the”
“아파트, 아파트..."
With Rose and Bruno Mars performing their hit song on stage with the crowd singing along.
That would be the best day of my life.

A Culture Rich in History and Traditions

Apart from their amazing food, music, and technology, Korea’s culture and traditions are just as fascinating.
They have their colorful cultural attires that hold symbols.
It would be amazing to explore some famous places too like the Gyeongbokgung Palace.
The breathtaking pink petals cover the streets.
And I would love to experience their respectful etiquette and culture.

It would be incredible to explore every part of Korea. I would have had China at the top of my list—I would love to live in the future.
But until then, Someday, South Korea, I’ll see you in person!
