Preparing for Pre-sale & New Battles in the Modern Format
This week, I’d like to dive into in another thoughts about choosing best packs and share additional impressions regarding the upcoming launch of Conclave Arcana especially my plan pre-sale Conclave Arcana, the much-anticipated sixth core set of Splinterlands. Previously, I had already expressed my initial impression of this release, particularly my interest in taking part during the presale period this month. In that first blog post, I mainly shared my early reactions and what caught my attention about the new set, especially the unique features and promising mechanics introduced. If you haven’t read it yet, feel free to check out the full post here: Conclave Arcane Ascends in Praetoria – Splinterlands.

Spin the RNG Which Splinterlands Pack Is Worth
When it comes to choosing the best luck for opening packs in Splinterlands' Conclave Arcana, there are four main categories to consider, each offering different values and odds. The most basic option is the Starter Pack, priced at $1 or 1,000 DEC, which includes one guaranteed rare card and four additional cards with an 80% chance to be common and a 20% chance to be rare. Next is the Standard Pack, costing $4 or 4,000 DEC, which offers five cards from the Conclave Arcana set with a 75.2% chance of receiving commons and lower odds for rare, epic, or legendary cards. There's also a small 2% chance of pulling a gold foil card. For players seeking more exclusivity, the Alchemy Pack, worth $12 or 12,000 DEC, guarantees one gold foil card, and if you happen to pull a black foil card, the system automatically overrides it and converts it to gold foil—so don’t be surprised if your expected black foil ends up as a gold foil instead. Lastly, the most premium option is the Legendary Pack, priced at $24 or 24,000 DEC, which functions similarly to the Alchemy Pack but offers double the potential with added chances of receiving both Black Foil and Black Foil Arcane cards. The key difference between these two is that Black Foil Arcane cards come with animated designs, giving them a more luxurious and high-value appearance. Beyond aesthetics, these cards often boast powerful abilities, making them not just visually striking but also strategically advantageous in battle.

My Conclave Arcana Pre-Sale Arcane Investments
My initial investment for this month's Conclave Arcana pre-sale is around $40 or a bit more, depending on how things go, and if luck is on my side, I might even consider adding to that amount in hopes of gaining a greater return than what I initially spent. My focus is on purchasing a few Alchemy Packs, probably three or more and possibly one or more Legendary Packs if I manage to stretch my budget. I'm particularly aiming to pull Gold Foil cards, and if I happen to get a unique, powerful, and highly useful Gold Foil card, I’m considering selling it on the market once trading becomes available during the launch of Conclave Arcana. An added incentive is the promotional Arcane Skinwalker card, which will be awarded to players who spend at least 40,000 DEC during the pre-sale. However, it's important to note that pulling max-level cards isn’t guaranteed unless you manage to buy and combine several duplicates from the collection. It’s a bit of a gamble for me since this is my first time joining a pre-sale event, but what encouraged me to take the plunge is the transition of Chaos Legion to the Wild Format, meaning only newer sets like Conclave Arcana will be viable in the Modern Format moving forward. With that in mind, I'm stepping into this event with cautious optimism, how about you, are you planning to join the Conclave Arcana pre-sale?

Preparing New Modern Format battle or Stay in Wild Format

I'm leaning toward staying in the Modern Format for now, as it provides a solid opportunity to earn SPS, which I can then reinvest into acquiring new cards—especially with the upcoming release of the Conclave Arcana set this month. While the Wild Format does allow for more glint earnings and lets me continue using my existing Chaos Legion cards, my main focus this year is to build up my SPS through Modern battles. The introduction of new cards from Conclave Arcana also means a fresh wave of strategic challenges and gameplay shifts, which I find both exciting and motivating. Although adapting to these changes might take a bit of time, I'm confident that with continued play and experimentation, I’ll be able to master the synergy and use of these new cards in Modern Format battles, especially as they relate to specific rule sets.
