Short Battle With Martyr Strat Water Element
Good day everyone splinterlands community, I should not blog twice today but since I made the mistake of this version blog might as well edit it with something useful for the community. I was trying to edit and publish my post of Custom Challenge: Rewriting the Rules Splinterlands Inleo but ended up creating another blog which was a mistake. I apologize for that and will not use Inleo or other blog sites for editing.
I will share short strategy analysis with Martyr Strat Water Element Modern Format battle.
Into the battle: https://splinterlands.com/battle/sl_f3d77e432c71e1b3b88f24c7b6aec841
The rule set for this battle are Ferocity, Target Practice, and Born Again, with Earth and Dragon being inactive. I’ve chosen the Water element with Kelya Frendul as the summoner to dominate the opponent with speed while also providing my team with protection armor. My strategy focuses on using melee power with sneak attacks to gradually take out the opponent’s backline. The opponent, on the other hand, is using Lux Vega, a powerful summoner that excels in armor, speed, and health, aiming to overpower me with debuffs and buffs. I anticipate Doctor Blight could be a problem for my strategy.
I’ve placed Venari Marksrat on the front as bait since the Target Practice rule set will prioritize attacking this unit first. This not only draws attention away from my other units but also boosts my Deeplurker and Pelacor Bandit, especially as the Born Again ability pairs well with them.
The MVPs of the match were Deeplurker, Venari Marksrat, and Pelacor Bandit, who fought until the final round, lasting up to 11 rounds.
Is this line up strategy useful in most rule sets given?
For my experience in modern format battle, this strategy can be useful in many battle rule sets, especially those speed, armor, and line-up positioning. The Water element’s speed advantage through Kelya Frendul can often allow for quick strikes, overwhelming slower opponents and gaining the upper hand before they can counter. Additionally, the combination of melee power and sneak attacks makes it effective against opponents who rely on heavily protected backlines, as it can systematically break down their defenses. Using Venari Marksrat as bait with the Target Practice rule also takes advantage of a commonly applied rule, providing protection for more vital units while creating opportunities for damage output and strategic control.
However, its prediction lucks of battle win may be limited in rule sets that focus heavily on ranged attacks or where the opponent's debuffs and buffs are more powerful, such as in battles with Lux Vega or those with high health and armor. Against such opponents, the strategy may need to be adjusted, as the focus on speed and sneak attacks might not be enough to counter heavy buffs and debuffs. In these cases, the strategy would need to incorporate more versatile countermeasures or rely on specific counter abilities to maintain its advantage.
