Quality Time with the Kiddos

I went on a quick trip back home last weekend to spend some time with the kids. Since I recently started a new job, I don't have any vacation leave credits yet, so I wasn’t able to stay long in the province.

I had to commute for almost 10 hours just to get home on Saturday right after my Friday night shift ended. I was exhausted, but arriving home and seeing the kids definitely made all the tiredness worthwhile.

We spent the whole Sunday together—grabbed some food, went grocery shopping—and then Monday came, and I had to head back to the city and go straight to work that night. I can't wait to get regularized so I can stay home longer. Oh, the challenges of being a single working mom!
