Dos flores, una azul y una naranja. La flor azul es símbolo del amor. El color naranja es símbolo de la lucha en contra de la violencia hacia la mujer. Quise poner esta imagen para iniciar este post, con las dos flores juntas. Porque todas las cosas buenas dependen de esta unión.

Mi saludo a todas las integrantes de esta comunidad, a los caballeros que integran este grupo, les envío mi abrazo y les agradezco mucho su respeto para con nosotros.

Hoy tuve la dicha de participar en el festival Tiempo de mujer. Su mayor objetivo es luchar en contra de la violencia hacia la mujer y las niñas. Es una iniciativa de la escritora puertopadrense Xiomara Maura Rodríguez.

Como hace ya algunos años desde la llegada de la COVID, este festival se redujo a un día con conferencias, lecturas poéticas por mujeres, presentaciones de libros de escritoras, no solo tuneras o cubanas, también internacionales.

Xiomara, como primera parte de este evento, anduvo de recorrido por algunas escritoras de América que fueron maltratadas o que de alguna manera recibieron violencia.

Luego la escritora Marina Lourdes Jacobo, leyó poemas de escritoras cubanas, como Dulce María Loynaz, Mirta Aguirre, habló de historias de otras artistas como Frida.

Tuvimos al trovador Richard Gómez quien nos deleitó con canciones que llevan nombres de mujer, cantó el poema musicalizado de Renael González, Tu mirada. El poeta Argel Fernández se sumó a este canto a la mujer y dijo un poema también de Renael.

El público presente no se quedó atrás y dijo nombres de mujeres célebres, o sencillamente nombres de mujeres que han hecho historias. La maravilla de cantar feliz, sin violencia.

Coreamos las canciones con Richard, reímos, nos divertimos. Éramos algunas, de cualquier edad, nos acompañaban algunos caballeros. Decir caballero, es símbolo de hombre de respeto, quienes, además, también cantaron de alguna manera, por la que ya no pueden cantar. Ellos se unieron a nosotras. También a ti.

Today I had the pleasure of participating in the Tiempo de Mujer festival. Its main objective is to fight against violence against women and girls. It is an initiative of the Puerto Padre writer Xiomara Maura Rodríguez.

As has been the case for several years since the arrival of COVID, this festival was reduced to one day with conferences, poetry readings by women, and book presentations by writers, not only from Las Tunas or Cuba, but also internationally.

As the first part of this event, Xiomara toured some of the women writers of the Americas who had been mistreated or otherwise subjected to violence.

Then, writer Marina Lourdes Jacobo read poems by Cuban writers such as Dulce María Loynaz and Mirta Aguirre, and spoke about the stories of other artists like Frida.

We had troubadour Richard Gómez, who delighted us with songs that bear women's names. He sang Renael González's poem, "Tu mirada" (Your Look), set to music. Poet Argel Fernández joined in this tribute to women and sang a poem also by Renael.

The audience was not far behind, naming famous women, or simply names of women who have made history. The wonder of singing happily, without violence.

We sang along with Richard, laughed, and had fun. There were a few of us, of all ages, accompanied by a few men. To say "gentleman" is a symbol of respect for a man who, moreover, also sang in a way that they can no longer sing. They joined us. You too.
