Sunday, December 4, 2022, promised to be a different day. And so it was. I remember that that day I worked on my live radio program until 11 in the morning and from the station I ran into the arms of my friends, who were waiting for me at the EJO project in Camagüey.

After the greetings and signs of affection, we shared what would be almost two hours of trova, poetry and repentismo. Like good Cubans, there was no shortage of toasts and snacks to liven up the evening. And of course there were no shortage of photos either, in a genuine attempt to immortalize the moment.

Many of those who accompanied me were already old acquaintances.

El domingo del 4 de diciembre de 2022, prometía ser un día distinto. Y así fue. Recuerdo que ese día trabajé en mi programa radial en vivo hasta las 11 de la mañana y de la emisora corrí a los brazos de mis amigos, que me esperaban en el proyecto EJO de Camagüey.

Después de los saludos y las muestras de cariño, compartimos lo que serían casi dos horas de trova, poesía y repentismo. Como buenos cubanos no faltó el brindis y los bocadillos, para amenizar la velada. Y claro que tampoco faltaron las fotos, en un intento genuino de inmortalizar el momento.
Muchos de los que me acompañaban ya eran viejos conocidos.

Nadie podía augurar que desde ese instante entablaría con ellos una amistad tan duradera y fuerte, que aún perdura en el presente.

Hoy, en este jueves de antaño, cuando vuelvo mi vista sobre estas fotografías, no puedo evitar escuchar los sonidos y sentir el aroma del lugar. Me es imposible no sentir a todos mis amigos.
