"Woman in the yard," my review.

I know I've mentioned this before in a previous post I made here about "horror" movies being my thing. I've been seeing this movie popping up in my notification bar, but then I didn't really have the time to check it out, maybe I wasn't just getting an attraction or a feeling.

So, in the general chat channel where I was having a conversation with a friend, he recommended this movie to me, and immediately, I decided to click on that download button and do justice to it.

Here is the Plot

The movie tells the story of a crippled woman named "Ramona" who lost her husband in a fatal accident making her the only survivor and leaving her to care for her two children alone in a rural farmhouse they purchased. Ramona became the saddest during those moments of losing her husband. Her sadness slowly turns into fear when a strange woman appears in the yard with a sit.

Ramona tried to have a conversation with the lady, but wasn't understanding the points the lady was making at every moment, and the only words Ramona could capture were "today's the day". Ramona can't call the cops because her phone was dead, and there was no power supply at the moment as well, leaving them in the dark.

As time passed, the woman in the yard started getting closer and closer to the house, and Ramona was faced with the responsibility of protecting her children from the creepy thing.

My Humble Review

"What a movie." At first, I felt like the movie was too slow, maybe because it was the beginning, so I didn't stop there. I took the risk of going further into the movie to see what awaited me. Then the scenes start unfolding and bringing in a certain level of plot twists.

Now, "the woman in the yard,," what is her problem? And what does she want from Ramona? At some point, I thought she was just in Ramona's head and was trying to play with her mind,, but the children can see her as well, so that built a thing inside of me that "the woman is real".

I know the movie is portraying the guilt in Ramona's heart. She felt she had killed her husband because she was the one driving that night when the accident happened, and she didn't tell her children the truth. Rather, she told them "her husband was the one driving,," that lie alone enveloped her and was doing the most to her. She felt she wasn't good enough, and her children would be better off without her in their lives.

So the creepy woman who appeared in the yard out of nowhere tried to increase the guilt inside of Ramona, making her consider suicide. Building different thoughts inside of her. And often that is how the mind works, the moment we feel we aren't good enough for a certain reason, negative thoughts start flooding our heads, thereby making it hard for us to think straight. The only thoughts we'd be having are suicidal thoughts. So I appreciated the way the movie portrays that part, they didn't get to sugar coat it.

In all, the movie was amazing, I'm happy I risked my one hour and a few minutes watching this movie, and I didn't regret it one bit. If you are a lover of psychological thrillers, then this movie is just for you.

I'm gonna rate this movie a 7/10, though I became lost in the movie at some point, but then generally it is a nice film, and you'd love it.
