What law does.
When you hear the word law what comes to your mind, growing up Whenever I heard that word I always thought it only had to do with lawyers cause when you look at the spelling of lawyer you'd know what I'm talking about. As I grew older I got to understand the word better due to how it shapes our behavior.
Without laws, people would be free to do whatever they wanted, now these laws have imposed certain limitations, and restrictions on how we behave which have to be followed and anyone violating these laws will be punished.

What is law? It's a rule that tells us how to behave in public and private places, laws are different, and it change. For instance, you went to a gas station, now we know the number one rule right which is "Do not smoke" Will you smoke there? Nope, you answered correctly, you won't smoke except you have in mind to blow up the place.
At the higher institution I attended, people don't engage in a physical fist, it's a law that is strictly obeyed by every student, once you're caught engaging in a fight with someone I think both parties will be expelled, so people try as much as they can to avoid conversations that will lead to that.
Here is something I witnessed, so there was a day my friends and I went to a class in another department, at the time we got there, the hall was calm, and everything was going smoothly, then a lady walked into the hall, unfortunately for her the hall was filled with no seats available well there were a few seats available but then you know how these students behave, they'd drop their bags in the empty seats for their friend who'd be coming a bit late "I did that too but not often, oya una don catch me" so when the lady came into the hall and saw an empty seat with a bag on it, she kindly removed the bag and sat down, the person that kept the bag saw her and walked to her.
And asked "There is someone there" The other lady replied "But I'm not seeing anyone" They became quiet for a while till the owner of the seat walked in then her friend went to meet her and escorted her to the seat behold someone was occupying the seat, so the owner of the seat asked the other lady to stand up from her seat then the lady raised her head and shouted I came before you so this is my seat and not yours. That's where the quarrel started now I noticed in the process of quarreling they never attempted to raise their hands at each other rather they were threatening to wait for each other outside the school premises.
I didn't get to see the event that occurred afterward, I know you were waiting for that part but "bear with me cause I didn't see that result you were expecting" so all my stay in school I didn't see anyone engaged in physical fight till the day I graduated.
These laws sometimes prevent us from harm, imagine those ladies engaged in a physical fight the one with lesser power or strength will get beaten by the other one which will lead to her having pains that are likely to generate something else later on. Laws protect our general safety as citizens and individuals in a group. Law sets the standards that are accepted and those that aren't accepted, most laws were formulated to avoid conflict among people.

When people are left unchecked, there will be anarchy. Laws are meant to prevent such anarchy. Laws aren't just meant to keep us in check, they are meant to protect us.
I also wonder if those two later fought😂
I really wanted to see that fight like badly but my friends refused...
