That One Trip.

Hello, beautiful people. Welcome to my blog as I take you on a journey about my most recent trip.

Recently I attended an event somewhere and the MC started singing this particular song "If You Love Traveling and You Know Stand Up" Immediately I stood and when I did the MC was shocked "Well, I don't know why" Then I noticed the people in front of me didn't bother to stand up. I developed a little faith and said, "The back would stand up." I slowly turned my head to the back and noticed it was just two persons that stood at the back, plus me making it three. At that moment, I became relieved a little because "imagine standing alone in such a crowd".

I know I've said this a lot of the time, though, that I love traveling, I love leaving my comfort zone, and I love exploring. My most recent trip was my journey to Lagos state. I'm based in the southern part of the nation, so traveling to the western part of it is gonna look like traveling outside of the nation because of the distance. When I first got the invitation, I knew I wanted to travel by road despite knowing the distance involved.

From my end to Lagos state is like a ten hour's journey by road, but that didn't shake me though because I was all in for the exploration and not more, I know at some point I'm likely to feel tired from the whole trip but then who cares when your eyes are beholding the amazing things of nature. And passing through states you haven't visited before, then the driver gets to park and allows you to have a little peek during the times of taking some time to rest.

This particular trip was very recent "happened in late February" I was so excited about the trip but considering the finances involved cut down that excitement I was feeling a little bit because this isn't something I had for some time, it just came unexpectedly and you know how these expected occurrences work, you have to crawl your head up with every possible means to make that thing happen.

I got the text on a Tuesday, and the journey was bound to happen on a Thursday, so you see why I said unexpected things don't get us too excited because of the rush-hour preparations. But then that didn't stop me from embarking on the trip; I made that bold step by making the preparations during those rush hours and making it possible.

The first thing I did was get my ticket booked, and the prices were killing. I'm not gonna lie. At some points, I wanted to cry my eyes out, but then I said to myself, "What is there to cry about?" so I wrapped myself in the boldness of my arms and took that part that I've always meant to take. I booked the ticket, and the day of the trip came, I prepared very early in the morning because these buses leave very early to enable them to arrive Lagos in a friendly hour.

The vehicle I boarded was nice and quiet, everyone minding their business at first, at one point, we found ourselves conversing and laughing and making the whole trip fun. I didn't notice the distance, though, because I was pretty occupied with my phone and the conversations I was having with the people inside the vehicle.

I love every part of that journey, how it opened my eyes to the world there. I've always heard a lot of things about the people of Lagos, and experiencing those things for myself was even the most amazing thing about my trip. Lagos state is a nice place to be, even in its overpopulated nature that is scaring people from the south.

One advice: Always be sure to eat what you know. I ate something I didn't know, and my stomach became really upset.

My next trip, I haven't really thought of any yet, but then, with time, I think I'm gonna embark on one before the year runs out.

Thanks for reading 🧡

You really like traveling and leaving your comfort zone. You prefer a challenging atmosphere, which is different from me who likes comfort and doesn't like traveling.

You must feel tired from such a long journey but because you love to travel, it won't mean much.
I hope you enjoyed your stay in Lagos.
