Kids don't have the responsibility of every parent. And they want to take over, and I feel like if they have their way, they would want to stay in our lives forever, but then life isn't always predictable, and children are bound to grow.

Balance is needed. Parents should not feel like permanent bouncers in their kids lives. However it is, the kids will grow and eventually even move out of their parents roof. So yeah, the right amount of privacy is important.
