My Take.
If this question was asked a few years ago, I wouldn't have known what to say about it, but then I'm glad that at this point in my life, I can actually say something about this "subject matter". Sometimes I ask myself if we have child service organizations in my almighty nation, "Nigeria".
Story time: fasten your seat belts as I take you on a journey about a story I witnessed firsthand. There is this lady who lives a few miles away from me; she happens to own a provision shop, so my sister and I always purchase things from her. She has a little girl of about ten years who is always at the shop, attending to customers. Every morning when you go to the shop, you'd see the girl there. I'm the kind of person who doesn't like poke nosing into matters that don't concern me, but then at certain moments, I was forced by my inner spirit to ask her, "Why aren't you going to school?" Well, she couldn't respond. Maybe she doesn't know what a school is, though, "I thought to myself," and often when I see this child. I would always notice bruises on her body.
And seeing those bruises often makes me wonder, "Who still beats a child like this in this modern century?" The girl looks so unkept. One morning, I was in a hurry to purchase something when I saw something extraordinary. I saw the shop owner beating this girl like she was fighting with someone her age. Imagine holding a child and flinging that child on the floor, a tiled floor, and people were gathered at the shop, pleading, but all to no avail.
Before I knew it, some people in uniforms came. The uniform didn't look like our normal police uniform, it was different. Then, they forced their way into the shop, held the shop owner's hands, and asked her to step outside. Of which she did. Then they showed her their identification cards that they were from the child service organization, and they were there for her. That was how they carried her and the child and left.
It was at that moment that I knew we had something called "child service," an established organization that fights for the well-being of children and protects them from all manner of abuse.
Children are a blessing to mankind, they are the most selfless beings that ever walked on the face of the earth, they possess this incredible nature that you'd have no choice but to just love them, they make a home complete. No child should be abused or maltreated in any form.
That is why in other countries, when a parent can't take care of a child, they send them to foster homes where the children would be loved and taken good care of, because that is the joy of every parent to ensure that they are children are safe and sound.
With what I witnessed the other day, I don't think child service organizations are taking their duties too far, though, because in cases of children being abused and neglected by their guardians. Their sole duty is to protect every children often focusing on those who are at risk of experiencing abuse "that isn't a bad thing to do" but then in cases where a child is being corrected by their parents and it is seen as abuse is what I won't see as a good thing though.
There are some children who, when you correct them, see it as an offense. In cases like this, child care isn't really necessary; it all boils down to the child and their upbringing. But then, when it comes to children being abused and neglected by their guardians, the child care agencies can perform their duties.

Your story is very touching, we often see violence against children in the news these days.
Yeah it is.
Thank you for stopping by
Till date I have never had any experience with any childcare agency, never knew they were this active.
Ooh okay. That day was the first time I even witnessed such acts, though.
This was beautiful to read and it resonated so well with my write up, this was like an answer to what I wrote
I also didn’t know child services function in our country and I’m sure someone must have noticed the way the woman beat the girl and reported her.
Too many kids out there that are being abuse
I'm gonna check your post out. We think alike sometimes. Kudos to us.
Many children out there are being abused by the people they live with.
Many of these guardian often maltreat children placed under their care, which is not good, hopefully government will initiate a working system that protects this young ones.
Yeah, and it's very bad. When I see children who are maltreated, I feel so hurt.
Thank you
