Experiences to be thankful for!!!

Happy New Year to everyone here in the hive Naija community, I feel very grateful to be counted among the living, I find it a privilege.

This is the first contest of the year and I'm super excited about this contest, I'll be sharing my thoughts on:

The last year has been different for people in your country, yet there are aspects we would be thankful for when we think about them, reflect on the cultures, people, government, various economic sectors, and just about anything, and tell us about anything.

Last year started roughly in my nation even amid the hardship some people were still making it big while others weren't, and others found it difficult to cope, everything started at the early part of the year due to the currency redesign, and the federal government banning the use of the old naira note we experienced money scarcity, getting cash at the banks was very difficult, then POS merchants were charging high for cash transactions thankfully we were able to survive that. Secondly, the removal of fuel subsidy that is affecting the nation now has led to an increment in transportation, one of the reasons I didn't travel home was the transportation issue, traveling is very expensive, and transportation fares are now thrice the price it was early last year. I'm thankful the citizens are getting used to it, the good thing about Nigerians is they always adapt to new developments. But I hope it gets better this year and everything gets back to normal.

Last year I met an amazing individual, we went out to some cool places and did almost everything together, she showed me what true friendship was all about even for a short period, I believe you don't have to know someone for ages before you get attached to them, so I was flowing with everything then all of sudden, everything changed this person started ghosting me, even when I tried to understand why, she wouldn't let me, she stopped taking my calls or returning them, and then I said to myself to let her go not everyone who comes into our lives is meant to stay forever, some are just temporary. Along the line I still met some amazing and genuine people who have taught me a lot of things, I believe that every friendship or relationship we build should enable us to gain some knowledge.

Lastly, I'm thankful for my real friendship, those who care about me, those who see the best in me, and those who see my bad character and decide to stay with me, I'm thankful that my relationship grew stronger last year never thought the things that happened would have ever happened, last year we had a lot of fun together, getting to know each other more, and the bonds grew stronger than I expected, I also spent a lot of time with my siblings and I'm super grateful seeing them, the growth in their lives.

thanks for reading🌹

You are right, not everyone who comes into your life is meant to stay, you have to learn to let them go when they want to and move on.

What I’ve learned is that people come into our lives for a purpose and time, sometimes it’s good for people to leave because the troubles you might experience later with their presence is really heartbreaking.
