My favourite place for hiking - Week 294

Hiking is not something I do often; in fact, I only do it occasionally. It's not that I don't like it, but I exercise all week at the gym and rarely go outdoors. Besides, my favourite place isn't here in my state of Aragua. In my city, most people go to Maracay Hill, which is the most popular, and I have climbed it, but I don't really like it very much, and I'll explain why.

Hill Maracay is part of Henry Pettier National Park. What I don't like about this hill is that it's very rocky and doesn't have much shade, which makes hiking there unpleasant. To climb it, I prefer to go very early in the morning when the sun hasn't risen yet and, if it has, it's not too hot. because after nine in the morning, the sun is very strong and the hike becomes very difficult. That's what I don't like about it, but the view is beautiful, and when you reach the top, it's very cool.

On the other hand, my favourite place for hiking is the *** Waraira Repano*** National Park in the city of Caracas. For me, it's the best of all, and what I like about this hill is that it has paths that make it easier to climb up and down. This place has several entrances, but the one I climbed has a concrete path. Another thing I like is that there is a lot of vegetation and large trees that provide plenty of shade as you walk around the place.

This place also has dirt paths and damp areas, which keep it cool, and the view is another of its attractions: a beautiful view of the city and exceptionally cool weather, which makes for easy walking. I like hills like this and not the arid ones in my city. It's important to me that it's more mountainous and cooler.

Writing this short post reminds me that when I was little, we often went to the city of Trujillo, where my grandfather had a house on a hill. and I used to walk around that mountain since I was a child. The climate was very cool, and I remember sitting on top of the mountain to contemplate part of the town. That is why now that I see it, I am used to that type of walk, and that is why I do not like to go hiking much in my city. Although there is a very beautiful view, for me, the climate does not make up for it.

That view at the end is incredible. Isn't it amazing that a whole huge city can be built out of the jungle?

When seeing your last photograph - although you dont think it is the right 'climate' I just thought: "I wish we had such views in my country". Where I live, everything is flat, flat and again flat. No mountains, hardly any hills. Only possible to view a city or town from higher up, from buildings that are build higher to the rest. Am not complaining at all, just having such thoughts whenever I see still images from cities and land from higher up, from natural locations, not from buildings and whatnot.

NJOY the gym and the future hiking! Great spots you showed in your post! NJOY

Me alegro que te guste, creo que cada ciudad tiene su encantó, pero estos parejas siempre me han gustado mucho como a ti, aquí en Venezuela hay llanuras y hay partes donde no hay montañas, viví en una hace tiempo y añoraba las montañas.
