Yesterday, I faced a serious dilemma. A few days ago, I was invited to sing at an event where I will be accompanied by the Wind and Brass Orchestra of the Armed Forces, which is like a symphony orchestra but without the strings. That is, without violins, violas, cellos, or double basses.

The first time I was invited (many years ago), I made the arrangement myself, using the base of the arrangement we recorded with Los Cañoneros, adapted from a quintet to an orchestra.

However, at that time, I didn’t include saxophones. But this time, they asked me to include them.

When I looked at the original arrangement, I realized how much progress one makes over time. The score —which is what the sheet music containing all the instruments is usually called— had a number of errors or details that could be improved to make it easier to read and interpret for different instruments. Naturally, I took the opportunity to correct these "details" and to add new parts, eliminate others, rearrange some voices, etc.

But this posed a problem: if I wanted to do all that, I wouldn’t have time to write my #HPUD post.

So, I decided to sacrifice my badge for the month of February in order to enjoy the pleasure of singing a better arrangement on the day of the performance.

Still, I’m taking the opportunity to do my Power Up, even if it’s late, and continue keeping control of my investments on Hive.
